Japanese National Railways DF41 form diesel

The DF41 form is the electricity-type diesel which Japanese National Railways (Japanese National Railways) ever made a try of.

Table of contents

Background of the production

When Japanese National Railways explored the development of the diesel, I designed the original locomotive, and the domestic vehicle maker produced it experimentally in order to plan the sale to Japanese National Railways and the foreign countries. As for these locomotives, 9 forms in total were borrowed by Japanese National Railways and, for 40 generations, I was given a form in its 90s later and was made a try, and Japanese National Railways purchased some forms formally. It is this procedure that Kishia Seizo produced for main line use among those trial manufacture locomotives in (1958) in 1958.

Structure

As for the production, as for the body, the cart, other machine parts, as for Kishia Seizo, the engine, each shares the electrical components such as Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, the main generator, the main motor with Toyo Electric Corp., and the production imprint is a joint signature of three companies, too [1].

An engine is so-called JAPAN UNIFLOW scavenging diesel engine in a water cooling V-twelve 2 stroke diesel engine of consecutive rating output 1,320HP [2] that Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding produced by technical cooperation with Danish bar Mai studio company (as for Burmeister & Wain Ltd., the present MAN SE group.). A gearbox was unnecessary, and the power transmission method adopted an electric expression suitable for short-term development. I am about to have it cramped, and, as for the last reduction gear, one step with the results that are enough with an electric locomotive is an expression.

The axis placement is C-C. Was box form, and the body was refined generally; have a slender impression. The front shape is a design like the Japanese National Railways EH10 form electric locomotive, but is a penetration type. A penetration door is established not to attract attention in the front under a window central part. As for painting it, an obi of the stainless steel and the obi red below entered the body center with white at the time of the vehicle display in A.R.C. (person of Asian railroad leaders social gathering) of (1958) in 1958, but an obi of the stainless steel was painted a boundary and the two-tone color of the brown light and shade that I did with at the time of the use in Japanese National Railways. In addition, there is not a metal obi thought to be the examination painting, and the photograph of the painting that added a yellow obi to brown and red two-tone color is left.

It is equipped with an SG3 form steam generator for the passenger train heating.

Operational

Japanese National Railways borrowed it in (1959) in 1959 after the new product and was located in the Fukuchiyama engine department and was used in San'in Main Line and Fukuchiyama Line. It was renamed to DF92 form later and was returned (1962) in March in 1962.

As previously described, it became made in 1959 by many documents (1959) until now though this plane was completed in (1958) in 1958. When it is loaned out by Japanese National Railways, this is supposed with the error that I had by having treated the first date listed in the car career book or a public information document like the new product placement of the general vehicle of the Japanese National Railways ordering.
