Isoflavone 4'-O-methyl transferase (Isoflavone 4'-O-methyltransferase, EC 2.1.1.46) is an enzyme catalyzing the following chemical reactions.
- S-adenosyl-L-methionine + isoflavoneS-adenosyl-L-homocysteine +4'-O-methyl isoflavone
Therefore, as for the substrate of two of this enzyme, S-adenosyl-L-methionine and 5,6,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-3,7-ジメトキシフラボイソフラボン, two products are S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine and 4'-O-methyl isoflavone.
This enzyme belongs to the family of the methyl transferase letting a transferase particularly 1 carbon group metastasize. The systematic name is S-adenosyl-L-methionine: It is isoflavone 4'-O-methyl transferase (S-adenosyl-L-methionine:isoflavone 4'-O-methyltransferase). This enzyme participates in isoflavonoid biosynthesis.
