楮川 dam (こうぞがわ -) is a dam for exclusive use of waterworks built by Kajihara, Tanocho, Mito-shi, Ibaraki frontage, 那珂川水系田野川右支楮川.
History
The waterworks of Mito-shi drew water directly from the Naka River after the Meiji era. But there was often that I fell into it uncertainly because seawater went up from the down stream when the Naka River became the shortage of water. In addition, securing of water demand was required with increase of the population, and it was approached by need to secure a new water source other than Fujii River dam. It was planned from (1980) in 1980 by a Mito-shi Channel part and was completed in this way in 1985.
A concrete dam, the height gravity-style as for the model of the dam are 35.0m. A buttress dam includes bamboo grass style dams of the famous Hakodate-shi water department elsewhere for a municipal dam. The dam was built in the valley where there was the pond called "ジャジャンボ pond", but flooding was impossible under the own running water of 楮川. Therefore, I took the method that I built the pumping station in the Naka River of Wataricho, Mito-shi and stored in the dam lake through water intake, a tunnel. 楮川浄水場 is built in the dam left bank and supplies waterworks to Mito-shi.
A go-around road is built, and the dam lakefront looks at the figure of the person doing jogging or cycling well. There are Mito-shi Shinrinkoen and Tano citizen athletic ground near and is utilized as a spot in the leisure of the Mito citizen. I am chosen as one of the Shinmito eight beauty spots than an attachment degree from those citizens as "Mito-shi Shinrinkoen and 楮川 dam". I opened the dam spot under construction to a citizen on 1st in (1984) in 1984 under construction. I am intended to publicize water supply business of the city, but am an initial example of the dam construction open to the area.
