I isolate it and culture a cell constituting skin, and cultured skin (ばいようひふ) is tissue of the structure similar to the skin which I made artificially.

Classification
To a thing referred to cultured skin (note 1), there are three types of the culture epidermis, culture dermis and the composition type cultured skin that put these together today. As for the culture epidermis, the culture dermis is comprised of a dermis fibroblast and the para-matrices such as collagen sponges from an epidermic cell and few melanocyte. In addition, by the relations of a person and the provider of the cell undergoing transplant of the cultured skin, I attach a different kind (the cultured skin which I made with the cell of the animal except the Homo sapiens), a phrase such as similar (the thing which I made with a cell of another person) self (the thing which I made with own cell) and distinguish it (e.g.,: self composition type cultured skin).
(note 1) Skin is originally the tissue consisting of both of the epidermis and the dermis. Therefore, a case "cultured skin", it is thought that I point only to the compound model cultured skin closely, but the decision about the term is not yet performed. Practical use
In Japan, self and similar culture epidermis and culture dermis, development, clinical application of the self composition type cultured skin have been performed led by a medical institution and the bioventures such as university hospitals.
I receive approval of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as the only instrumentarium, and the self culture epidermis (brand name J ®) which Japan Tissue Engineering Co., Ltd. provides is manufactured and is published insurance now from January, 2009. In addition, as for the self composition type cultured skin, a cell bank Co., Ltd. aims at the practical use as an industry-university co-operation common enterprise with Tokai University.
Characteristic
Each these cultured skin is used for the wound closedown such as a burn or the skin ulcer, but a purpose of use and an effect to be provided are different depending on each characteristic.
Similar cultured skin
It cries to engraft permanently (it does not become one's skin) and saves it and is used as a temporary wound covering material (medical materials to patch for a wound to maintain the environment that is most suitable for wound healing). It is said that a promotion effect of the healing quick wit is provided by a material promoting wound healing being released by a cell. I save it, and there is the advantage that I can use without delay at the time of need making beforehand to use a cell of another person.
As for similar culture epidermis, an effect to promote epithelization only for a slight wound is accepted.
Similar culture dermis is used for the purpose of planning a wound healing promotion effect by putting it many times, and changing it. If it is a slight wound, during short run, I can do it in a state suitable for a skin graft for the deep wound until healing.
Self cultured skin
It is the greatest advantage that eternal survival is provided, but there is a fault to need some period until I can use it to gather own cell when I was necessary, and to make it. It is thought that I can overcome this fault by building the system which I store one's cell beforehand in the future and comprise for the unexpected situation.
In the case of the self culture epidermis, it is necessary for a dermis ingredient to remain in a wound as the terms of use. This depends on the reason that the epidermis can grow only on dermis. Therefore, in the case of a deep wound, it is demanded that I apply it after having rebuilt a dermis ingredient by some kind of methods.
On the other hand, with the self culture dermis, a dermis tissue is rebuilt, but a skin graft (even as for the culture epidermis transplant, possible) is necessary for wound closedown because the epidermis ingredient is not included.
From this and others, it may be said that it is the wound composition type cultured skin that the ideal thing cultures the epidermis and dermis at the same time in being closed down and unified. In other words, I have the advantage that treatment completes by one application in the wound that all skin layers such as the burn suffer a loss three times.
But the compound model cultured skin which I can make is a substitute of the skin piece gathered by layer epidermization (note 2) for one of before now, and it is thought that it is effective only when lack of the transplant skin is serious in a wide area burn. Because pigmentation and the shrinkage, hardening are seen like a share layer epidermization piece, I am not suitable when I make much of a conditioning the figure side in particular.

Safe
Because I use a living cell with the cultured skin, the infection of the pathogenic microbe through the cell becomes the problem, but, as for the self cultured skin, it may be said that the risk is zero to consist of own cells. On the other hand, I minimize an infection risk by using only the cell which I gave test that it is close with similar cultured skin on, but it is difficult to zero this and holds the problem that the possibility of the infection due to the virus unknown again cannot deny.
