太平寰宇記

The geography book that "太平寰宇記" (I do not go to a sea bream isolated) was edited in the late tenth century by the comfortable history (comb) of north Soong. All 200 volumes.

The body example to write down famous person and art and literature every each place gave a good example to the Chinese geography book of coming ages [¹].

Summary

The emperor of Soong destroyed north Han for (979 years) for Taihei founding a country four years and accomplished world unification. The history of comfort wrote "太平寰宇記" 200, two lists to be full of the world having been unified and presented an emperor it. There were thing and "the Genna districts and prefectures will" of 賈耽 (Chinese edition) of Tang to the preceding geography book, but is simple, and is over, and the place name changes by the difference in the times; had a problem [²].

I quote a large quantity of books, but am the book which is important to know the geography of Tang charges as well as Soong because most are things of Tang, before five generations.

Constitution, contents

I divided the whole country into the way in north Soong for 997 years, but follow the way which is the system before it in "太平寰宇記". I write it down about military, 監 which is a state, a prefecture, a prefecture belonging to each way and a special administrative section of Soong after having divided the whole country into 13 ways. At first it extends to the neighboring areas for the first time from the Tokyo opening a letter prefecture of the Henan way which is a capital. I write down the geography of 13 ways in first 171 volumes and write down 29 remainder about the neighboring surrounding foreign tribes.

I write down the number of houses, manners and customs, a person, the souvenir of each state, the history of each prefecture.

"太平寰宇記" of Kiyo lacked in winding 4 and eight volumes of winding 113-119 [³]. When I edited "storage of four complete works", the complete book was not found either [¹].

金陵書局本 of (1882) is known as a superior book printed by engraved wood of the school perception for light cord eight years, but after all lacks in eight.

Include six from winding 113 to winding 118 among the winding that was lacking in 残巻 which the Japanese Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department possesses in China (but winding 114 lacks in the latter half); [⁴]. These six volumes were put in "古逸叢書" of 清末 and were able to make up for most of omissions [⁵].
