The United States of America old Department of the Army (あめりかがっしゅうこくきゅうりくぐんしょう British: United States Department of War) was an administration of the United States of America Government and existed until September 18 for 1789 through 1947 to manage it with a strategy of the army (later including the air force). The old Department of the Army is written down in English with War Office. There is much old をつけることが to distinguish it from the current Department of the Army in Japanese. The old Department of the Army became a part of the ministry of national military administration on September 18, 1947 and became the Department of Defense on August 10, 1949. The old Department of the Army is commanded by a secretary of the army (Secretary of War) who is the member of the cabinet. It became a part of the ministry of national military administration, and the old Department of the Army was changed the name from to the Department of the Army (Department of the Army), and it was one of three military affairs-related ministries and government offices in the federal government. The Air Corps left the army at the same time, and it was by the cause of the Department of the Air Force established newly in an American air force.
