One of the villages where two are with Nishiawakura-son in the prefecture in the village which Shinjo-son (しんじょうそん) is located in the northwestern part of Okayama, and borders Tottori. History

Shinjo-son is the local government where a merger is not carried out for at all since the municipality organization enforcement of (1889) for 1,889 years. It merged, and all other municipalities in Maniwa-gun became Maniwa-shi on March 31, 2005, but Shinjo-son chose that I retained it alone.

History

  • - Shinjo-son (natural village) is established (1872) on August 17 in 1872.
  • Mashima county Shinjo-son organizes the local government by - municipality organization enforcement alone (1889) on June 1 in 1889. The larger section of a village was not organized for local government establishment in natural village alone.
  • - Mashima county merges with Ohba county (1900) on April 1 in 1900, and Maniwa-gun is established, and Shinjo-son becomes the position of Maniwa-gun.

Triumphant return cherry tree street
  • The popular name of the cherry tree planted on both sides of the former Izumo Highway post town in commemoration of the victory by the Russo-Japanese War in triumphant return cherry tree -1906 year. Triumphant return Sakura Festival is held every year in the anthesis of the cherry tree.
