Geography

It is located in the eastern part of the Tochigi-shi Iwafune area, the western part of the Shizuwa district.

Tochigi prefectural road 36 Iwafune hill line (former National highway No. 50), Tochigi prefectural road 67 Kiryu Iwafune line (same as above) passes the southern part to the east and west, and Tochigi prefectural road 160 Mamada, Izumi line diverges at Shizuwa intersection. In addition, Tochigi prefectural road 11 Tochigi Fujioka Line (Fujioka Highway, Izumi bypass) passes the eastern part to the north and south and connects it to Tochigi prefectural road 36 Iwafune hill line, Tochigi prefectural road 67 Kiryu Iwafune line at Izumi intersection. A mall, a residential area spreads out in succession in front of Shizuwa Station and becomes one of the loop of Iwafune-machi.

• Izumi-mura, Shimotsuga-gun, Tochigi merges with county Miwa village, Shizuko-mura, 50 Hatamura, music ヶ Shimamura, and Shizuwa-mura is established, and it is in Shizuwa-mura larger section of a village Izumi, and Shizuwa-mura government office is put (1889) in 1889 by April 1 - municipality organization enforcement.
• - Shizuwa-mura government office moves to Miwa (existing Shizuwa, Iwafune-machi) (1952) in 1952.
• - Shizuwa-mura merges with Iwafune village (former), Ono Teramura (1956) on September 30 in 1956, and Iwafune village (newly) is formed, and it is in Iwafune village larger section of a village Izumi.
• - Iwafune village enforces town organization (1962) on April 1 in 1962, and Iwafune-machi is established, and it is in Iwafune-machi larger section of a village Izumi.
• - Tochigi-shi incorporates Iwafune-machi (2014) on April 5 in 2014 and becomes Izumi, Iwafune-machi, Tochigi-shi.
