Summary
Two frigate led in French explorer, la Peru's 伯 evaded the unknown reef which appeared forward on the middle of the night of November 6, 1786 just before a collision. The la Peru's named this it for the boarding and recorded a position. I am constructed in coral reef for crescent moon-formed 32km and 12 sandbars, la Peru's 尖礁 of 37m in height. The total land area is 248.9km2. There is a runway in the turn island, and there is the resident, too. I am managed as a management place in the Papahanaumokuakea ocean National monument by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
There is it between Midway Island and Oahu and is on the airway between - Hawaii, Japan. Because the Japanese Navy during World War II built the flying boat base, occupation had been planned, but did not come true for failure of the Operation Midway. A runway was built in the turns Island in an atoll by U.S. forces and became the base to relay between Midway Island - Hawaii afterwards.
Conservation of nature
The entrance is limited to a researcher now because there is the whole atoll in a nature reserve. The green turtle (ホヌ) of the Hawaiian Islands spreads here.
