A former professional baseball player (pitcher) that Masatoshi Gondo (ごんどうまさとし, May 1, 1934 -) is from Saga.

Origin, person
While I make a bamboo dragonfly at the age of 5 years old, I do a serious injury to apologize, and to trim the tip of the left hand forefinger approximately 1cm with a knife (told that a later candy was created by this injury). In addition, it cost the boyhood for polio, and the left half of the body became paralyzed at one time. I join ocean Shochiku Robins after graduation in Yanagawa commercial high school (existing Yanagawa Senior High School) known as the hard practice in 1953. I play an active part to a weapon with a curve to greatly decline lengthwise called drop from the first year and acquire a rookie of the year by 15 wins 12 defeats [1]. I set pitcher's earned run average 2.83, striking out 222 in 1954, the following day, but greatly had a loosing record with 11 wins 20 defeats whether 143 与四球 of the league most sounded. As for the curve ball broken lengthwise of Gondo, Jun Doi of the catcher testifies, "I fall into the right angle to make a sound with a drill sharply." very hard. When it was got close to a fan in the name of "the drop of the strong current", and Masaichi Kaneda who was the master hand of the curve stood in the batter's box, I had difficulty dealing with a curve of Gondo and acknowledged superiority in those days.
I am moved to tears by poor batting, the weak defense of the friend (it is said that there was the stamina lack to come from chronic gastroptosis) and, from anti-Hiroshima war of July 9, 1955 to anti-Hanshin round on June 2, 1957 two years later, record 28 straight defeats of the professional baseball record [2]. By the game with Giants of July 7, 1957, I gave off initiative thyme Lee by oneself and struggled and raised complete blockade victory. Discord occurred with Masayasu Kaneta who became a supervisor last of the athletic career. Kaneta spoke "does even a monkey smoke?" about his features [5]. Jiangxia rose outside a door, and scream of Kaneta hit soon sounded. I did my best when it would not work that a person came and removed oneself either. It is said that Gondo answers it that Jiangxia that looked in しばらくのち, the inside asks it saying "I understood Gondo" "yes" and left the place with two. I warned Gondo severely from the league and disposed, and confinement to the house disposal was given by the baseball team, but Gondo has already decided a retirement. Unconditional release is given notice of on December 12 by the baseball team and is dismissed from it [9]. It was a blow case that I abandoned the league commendation of actual work 20 years [6].
The events that it might be said that I was unlucky for serious injury, serious illness, straight defeat of the childhood period, last and Gondo for the unhappy athletic career by the discord with the supervision occurred successively. As for the pitcher's earned run average in total, 117 wins 154 defeats and 37 are having a loosing record while leaving a grade of 2.775 and can see the sign of his hard fight. I suffer the bankruptcy in 1987 after having left the ground though I come back to the home town and devote myself to the management of the Gondo liquor shop of the business.
In people having a sweet tooth as I sprinkled sugar on rice three cups of tablespoons and ate, I put a caramel and a cake to Hatsune by the pillow and when everybody drank beer, I put sugar in water a lot and drank it. It was shogi, and Kozo Kawato referred to the hobby well when I was registered at Hanshin (as for what told Kawafuji the shogi Gondo).
