Brief career history
I appear for a movie as a child's part. I am embedded with the Royal Air Force and, during World War II, produce a documentary film. I enter the way of the direction in earnest after the war. I made use of wartime experience and took a lot of war movies, but gradually opened width of the direction including the comedy at the start.
In 007 series, three products of "the moonraker" are supervised "007 dies twice" "spy who loved me". These are known as a work with the outstanding magnificent scale in the series. In addition, "friends - pole and Michel supervised a youth movie, too", and the work by the same author made a big hit in each public country, and the sequel was made, too.

- When "007 dies twice," Lewis Gilbert supervises two movies of "Seven Nights in Japan "of 1976 on the stage of Japan. The latter was the movie which reversed the viewpoint of the man and woman of "Roman Holiday" that the British Crown Prince (Michael York) and a Japanese bus guide (Hidemi Aoki) fell in love. However, according to a Japanese, "007 dies twice"; description of Japan includes a sense of incongruity in the above; in Japan was not shown.
- The Japanese actor who went to both works mentioned above was Tetsuro Tanba, but he appeared in Manager Gilbert work in "the seventh dawn" before "007 died twice".
