Brief career history

I am born in Memphis of Tennessee and move to Los Angeles at 15 years old. Then I played it in various bands including the Howard Maggie orchestra [1]. In addition, in the Maggie orchestra, there were popular artist, Charlie Parker. It is just, and Chris develops the tone that is crisp original bluesy these days. However, I changed the band in sequence and participated in recording of Johnny Otis and Billy Eckstine [1].

The first breakthrough came in 1947, and many jam session was arranged by impresario Norman Granz. I contracted with an Imperial record of New York in 1956 and made Sony Clark an eyeball, and "jazz in, U.S.A." (Jazz in U.S.A.) and "a go man" (Go Man) recorded a series of classic albums such as "Sony Chris plays Cole Porter" (Sonny Criss Plays Cole Porter). The Capitol record which owned these masters released these sound sources as Class two pieces CD from a blue note label again in October, 2000. Winton Kelly participates in leader album "at the cross Rose" (At the Crossroads) of 1959 with a false name.

I contracted with プレスティッジ record in 1965 and I continued recording the album which came from a tradition of the hardware bop mainly and was able to win fame. It was the example of the original performance of Chris by the alto Saxo phone, and the record produced at this time contributed to fry the name in the country. I won it by some of albums at the time in the market, but a more important album is "the Sony's dream" that entering hit chart was schemed by Horace Tapscott (Sonny's Dream). I performed a session for the recording to the label such as Muses and the impulse afterwards.

I never played it after having had stomach cancer in 1977. As a result of not having endured sufferings from illness, I committed suicide in Los Angeles in the same year and died [1].
