"Phantom of the Opera" (The Phantom of the Opera) is a musical work of the premiere for 1,976 years by Ken Hill () who made novel "Phantom of the Opera" of Gaston Leroux the stage first [1]; [2]. The work which I described mistakenly held obsession love for innocent, beautiful singer, クリスティーヌ of the monster man ugly shockingly in. Wrote a song of creative words in Verdi, Gounod, Offenbach, Mozart, Donizetti, Weber, the existing music (arias of the opera) of Boito and others [1]; [3].

Process
"Phantom of the Opera" of Ken Hill was first "Phantom of the Opera" made the stage in a musical [1], and put success on [2], the box office [4]; [5] [6]. It is often underestimated the stage of the well-known novel of Gaston Leroux for a version, and the Ken Hill version is ignored [the source required]. However, is for Andrew Lloyd Webber who got various prizes, and the musical work for Ken Hill is the great work which affected [7]; (Ken Hill receives no royalty [source] required).
Ken Hill found out a walkabout, an original novel of Gaston Leroux in a secondhand bookstore and made up my mind to become the stage in a musical. Of course, as the original figure which Lulu would draw. I started it as the first musical edition in a production of Morecambe Pier [8], but the premiere was performed here because Hill did a director in New Castle playhouse [the source required]. On July 26, 1976, this premiere made a hit by the produce of the dukes playhouse of Lancaster. John Black more created it, and Clare squirrel designed it, and Gary イヤーション acted as a musical director [the source required]. Unlike a のちの version, iron アーミット which had associated with Hill in "The Curse of the Werewolf" composed a modern musical piece [9] and used the quotation of the opera "Faust" pattern of Gounod [10]. This Ken Hill version is a very unique derivation work of the original novel. I added a song to, murder and the world of the mystery and did shocking stage direction. While originally a novel of Lulu had it, this was the second coming of the intellectual story that had been forgotten for a long time. When it was soul itself to conflict with the heartstrings of all people that "a monster man" entered the theater rather than simple "imaginary product (creature of the imagination of the artiste) of the artist", Ken Hill also felt it like Lulu. Like though Ken Hill "is the thing which it is the stage that I enjoy a scene and am fun at all, and is only slightly serious.life…"(" Enjoy it. It's all fun. Though it has its serious bits. As in life ...I talk with ").
In 1984, Hill produced a revised edition. In the late 19th century, I wanted to really use music played in Garnier shrine this time. Therefore he canceled music by conventional アーミット and wrote a song of the original English lyrics based on the sentence of the original. I replaced it with Gounod, Offenbach, Verdi, Webber, Mozart, Donizetti [1] [11], an opera aria of Boito [3] and performed production in the music of the times when the original was written. I began in New Castle playhouse on April 3, 1984, and this revised edition was staged with the theater royal Stratford yeast afterwards by New Castle playhouse and a collaboration of the theater royal Stratford yeast [the source required]. It was staged for a short term the other day in nu Tyne theater of New Castle, the ground theater of Wolverhampton, but succeeded that much neither [the source required]. Sarah Brightman of the part of クリスティーヌ original cast for Lloyd Webber was depended on by appearance, but, at the time of theater royal Stratford yeast performance, opera singer Christina Corea was chosen because I was declined.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh married to a Brightman man appreciated Ken Hill version "Phantom of the Opera" with theater royal Stratford yeast in those days [7]; [8]. Leech and Lloyd Webber were past, and they have worked early in a "Joseph and the アメージング Technicolor dream coat" repeat performance in the Winchester theater together. To hear a favorable reception, Macintosh came close to a leech for collaboration to develop it in a masterpiece in the waist end of "Phantom of the Opera" with Lloyd Webber. Macintosh of the producer of Lloyd Webber and him was very positive, but Lloyd Webber finally decided to do the production without the leech.
In 1987, the premiere in the United States began in a repertory theater of St. Louis across the sea. Monkey ミストレッタ played the part of monster man and won a person of St. Louis drama review prize. Theater in the of San Francisco was square, and, in 1988, the second presentation in the United States began by produce of the Jonathan lei varnish [12].
Both the St. Louis version and the San Francisco version settled a great success, and, as for the leech, U.S. tour performance was sounded out. The lei varnish which would deal with "The Invisible Man" London performance of the leech later organized the phantom ツアリング company which produced a tour with electric factory コンサーツ. In 1989, a tour performance was produced by original New Castle playhouse. I went around 110 cities for several years and it became full and raised box office 72 million dollars in the United States [the source required].
In 1991, I came back to the U.K. and started a national tour by produce of Stewart McPherson and went into the waist end of London afterwards. On December 18, 1991, Peter strike laker began in the casts who did not approximately change if Christina Corea was for 1984 called the クリスティーヌ position a monster man position in シャフツバリー theater. The waist end performance was not good enough in box office by bombing cases by the IRA and, regardless of a popular review, ended on April 11, 1992 that was earlier than a plan [the source required]. Still I was nominated for two branches of the latest prize for musical, the prize for musical direction in Laurence Olivier Prize and won a prize for musical direction. I left the waist end, and Japan, Asia, a tour performance in Australia were carried out by produce of McPherson.
Outline
The first curtain
("Introduction") where Richard of the new manager comes in Paris Kunitachi opera in a northern railroad ex-President and securities transaction chorus honorary membership, and the story begins. He receives greetings from an artist and the staff ("Welcome Sir, I'm So Delighted"). Because the former manager did not keep 20,000 francs a month of the opera ghost and a demand of the loge, I retired in a short term. When tragedy happens if stupid Richard refuses the demand of the ghost with stubbornness, I happen to hear, but refuse this demand. Madam diLee in charge of the loge guidance warns Richard that the ghost will be discouraged. Richard requires the fifth loge which ghosts always use, and madam diLee has fear. Madam diLee knows that a ghost can do nothing in a manner of Richard. Madam diLee warns Richard that tragedy happens, but Richard does not have anything to do.
A performance begins at night ("Accursed All Base Pursuit of Earthly Pleasure"). The ghost does the first warning with a figure of the Mephistopheles. It is Hansom of Richard, but, after the curtain, hears that I talk with the other man when son Raul falling in love with クリスティーヌ ダーエ of the chorus so badly dully goes to her dressing room. When Raul whom I was jealous of breaks into the room, there is nobody. A ghost is very real and loves クリスティーヌ, and I enter, and an obstacle grieves over it ("How Dare She").
A stable lad comes over to the office of Richard and tells that a horse Caesar is missing ("Late Last Night I'm In The Cellars"). Richard discharges you as misbehavior of the stable lads immediately. クリスティーヌ visits the local graveyard with young Raul betrayed by a beloved person ("All Of My Dreams Faded Suddenly"). Raul is introduced "an angel of the music" with the voice of the angel ("While Floating High Above"). クリスティーヌ returns earlier, and the monster man is going to tighten a neck of Raul, but escapes because grave robber came over. I am grieved that a son runs after a chorus girl, and Richard turns it in the opera house. Diva Cal Lotta who was going to appear in the evening is very ill ("She Says She's Got The Nodules"). クリスティーヌ will sing in the back that Cal Lotta plays.
Such a thing does not matter for the monster man. The monster man does not mean to stop causing an accident and I let you leave Cal Lotta and intend to drive it into the presentation cancellation with every effort. Cal Lotta gets a wrong movement by a performance and does not match a song of クリスティーヌ at all at night ("What Do I See"). When approached in the curtain, クリスティーヌ loses mind; Cal Lotta such as the cry of frog speak, and the performance stops it. The monster man declares that Cal Lotta drops a chandelier while audiences burst out laughing. However, he switches on candlestick (candelabra) not chandelier (chandelier) and drops it to Cal Lotta.
After the curtain, クリスティーヌ and Raul meet on the roof of the opera house and talk with an opera house about a method to evade from a monster man. However, there was the monster man near then. The monster man appears from the back of the Apollo image which was on two ("To Pain My Heart Selfishly Dooms Me"). クリスティーヌ and Raul withdraw from the roof, and a monster man becomes alone. One old man enters and sprinkles the bait of the dove on the roof of the opera house. The monster man lets you amplify anger and I throw an unrelated old man from a roof and drop it. I shout that the monster man obtains クリスティーヌ.
The second curtain
"Faust" where クリスティーヌ plays the part of Marguerite starring begins ("Ah! Do I Hear My Lover's Voice?"). It is lost power during a performance, and there is not クリスティーヌ when I burn illumination again. The performance stops it, and performers look for クリスティーヌ among opera houses and point a lantern to the seat ("No Sign! I See No Sign!"). However, I am not readily found. The monster man kidnaps クリスティーヌ and picks you up on the boat and ties her to the stake of the pier which fog wraps up and the monster man leaves クリスティーヌ and comes back to the darkness ("Somewhere Above The Sun Shines Bright").
The ground search party moves to a boiler room. The person from Persia spends the past of birth and parentage and the monster man ("Born With A Monstrous Countenance"). Raul goes down in the basement of the opera house and searches it ("In The Shadows, Dim And Dreay"). Raul passed through the manhole with other people. The monster man shuts in them, and the situation heats up. The search party is driven into a corner ("What An Awful Way To Perish").
There is an organ in the church which the monster man owns, and score is scattered. The monster man decides to marry クリスティーヌ and tells love ("Ne'er Forsake Me, Here Remain"). クリスティーヌ tears off the mask of the monster man, and the monster man turns face away from cry, クリスティーヌ in anger and feeling embarrassed. The cry of monster man gradually stops, and the monster man who had eyes to have been full of determination and anger is going to get married by force with クリスティーヌ. However, Raul who ran away from the trap of the monster man, the search party including the person from Persia jump then. The monster man falls into a predicament and takes out a knife and lets クリスティーヌ stand before oneself. The search party arrests a monster man.

Recent presentation
In 1992, in the case of the first tour in Japan, new song "All Of My Dreams Faded Suddenly" for クリスティーヌ from Alia of Dvorak was added and was replaced with "Love Has Flown, Never Returning". "Love Has Flown, Never Returning" is collected for cast recording of the waist end, and "All Of My Dreams Faded Suddenly" is not collected [the source required].
I staged it all over the world from 1992, and a performance was carried out in New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Germany, Japan, Korea, the U.K. The newest U.K. tour was carried out from 2000 through 2001, and Chris Moreno of theater royal of Kan Lin produced it. The recent production is comical and may make fun of a Lloyd Webber version [the source required].
The latest performance was staged in Tokyo on 29th from December 19, 2013. Stewart Macintosh which dealt with a waist end production in 1991 produced it [the source required].
