Fay Shea (fascia) is a car term. I am used for some different phenomena.
- Use in the U.K.
- I point at either or those both installment panel (dashboard) in the front of the driver's seat of the car and dashboard. An enthusiast or an expert use it and are not necessarily used as general English mainly.
- Use in North America
- I mean a look (front look, front design) of the appearance when I looked at the car from the front. It is so-called "front design", and the detail (the details, detailed specifications) of individual parts is included in a front grill, head lamp, a front bumper. This part is the part which a handle is most easily attached to on the occasion of a change of the styling of the car (car in particular) and is an important part determining an impression. This term is technical, too and is not necessarily used as general English.
- Use in Japan
- の use was seen 1 among some person concerned with sale and users of the British car at the start. 2 came to be seen in the use of the の use as a marketing term of the automotive industry afterwards. A car commentator and a general car lover may use it, but it is judged 1 now only by the context whether と 2 is のいずれの use.
