Pain (Buddhism)

Pain (Buddhism)

With the pain (く, Brahman :दुःख, duḥkha) in the Buddhism, it comes from "ドゥッカ" of Sanskrit. "ドゥッカ" was translated as pain.

In "ドゥッ" (duḥ= dus) of "ドゥッカ", in meaning "to be bad", "ka" (kha), "space" is a meaning of "the holes". According to Winthrop Sargeant, as for the word "ドゥッカ", an axle does not break an authority of middle, and it is said that it comes from it to be uncomfortable. Originally, according to him, I have a meaning called "the hole of the bad axle" with the pain, and I throw it and want to mean "unpleasantness", and [1] is done to tell generally 逼悩 doing mind and body. In other words, mind and body are in condition to be tight by a trouble. Of these, about pain of the mind, I achieve , , jealousy. In addition, it is said that the physical pain is various kinds of illness.

Sufferings from two

Because such a mental pain and physical pain are internal pain of the human being, inner pain means this, and I am persecuted by another person and may call the pain such as wind and rain chills or fevers troubled by power of nature with outside pain. However, it should be said that I take the situation in the place feeling it inward even if I get the center for the Buddhism as pain of the human being from the outside.

苦諦

A basic viewpoint of pain or the Buddhism is established entirely in this way and is called 苦諦 (くたい). It is said that the human survival itself that 苦諦 is, "pain is 諦", and it is truth that it is pain (SATY shop, satya) is pain. Pain is pain with a philosophical meaning in this sense.

However, it should warn him to show sufferings from really concrete reality even if life, old illness to be said to be four pains sees death, sufferings from height of agony of separation, 怨憎会苦, 求不得苦, five aggregate, in addition, to be said to be agony.

Sufferings from three

This is shown in three pain to be said when generally I explain pain in coming ages well. The sufferings from three are three of sufferings from pain, 壊苦 (えく), the line pain.

Sufferings from pain

The sufferings from pain (くく, duḥkha-duḥkha) mean "a state to assume pain pain". It is explained with "pain to stop by if it becomes, and to be established of 苦事" and is the sensible pain that is external because I am said to be "pain to produce by ". Such a pain is the pain of the first stage for a human being and is natural and is underlying.

壊苦

壊苦 (えく, vipariṇāma-duḥkha) is "a state of the pain of the destruction". Because "ヴィパリナーマ" means, "I change into bad one", I express the state that is not preferable. It is explained with "the pain to stop by if I leave, and to drag 成 of the comfortable thing". It is said that "destruction" is a meaning of "easy boundary destruction" (らくきょうえめつ) at the point. In other words, it is pain to feel when an object feeling that it is preferable for a human being is broken in sequence. In this second pain, the pain that a human being feels generally is included.

It is thought that this 壊苦 points to "the pains to produce depending on the change of the heart" from "change (vijñāna-pariṇāma) of 識" to say in a kind of idealism and a thing used in an about the same meaning in pariṇāma of vi+pariṇāma.

Line pain

I am said to be "a state of the pain of the occurrence" with the line pain (ぎょうく, saṃskāra-duḥkha). Because the meaning of "the line" hints at surviving concerning "a made thing", it is pain taken in in the place that it moves by all existence being mutable and drifts to. Particularly, I showed that sufferings from survival, living were pain because it was pain to feel in a fact of the mutability of the human being survival.

Therefore, both sufferings from pain and 壊苦 can say this line pain when they take place as Nemoto. Line pain and the sufferings from height of five aggregate show human basic pain in this sense. "Oneself" human as the cause says a metaphysical way of thinking that that the Buddhism is valid fundamentally is pain that という self-indulgence is the origin of the pain.

Pain of the philosophical meaning

When it hears, "I preach the world in the Buddhism" when it is "pain", it is normal that remember Japanese "pain". However, "the pain" that Buddha preaches requires attention in being an exception with "pain" of the living language. As for the pain of the living language, there are physical pain and mental pain concretely, but, for example, "an incomplete thing" is considered to be [2] to point to "the heartless thing", and "an empty thing" expresses those mental sides with "pain" other than "a painful thing" in the primitive Buddhism with "pain" to preach in Buddhism. Therefore, a disease and physical pain are not gone because I got comprehension. Buddha enduring physical pain is drawn to the old Buddhist Scriptures, and it is said that it is certain that Buddha died of an illness.
