Otto Brendel

Otto Rudolf Martin プレンデル (Otto Rudolf Martin Brendel, from August 12, 1862 to September 6, 1939) is a German astronomer.

I was born in Niederschonhausen close to Berlin. I learned in European each place and obtained a doctorate in 1890. It was taught astronomy and the geodesy of the Gottingen University in 1898.

The main achievements related to astrodynamics, and performed one, an asteroid, the comet of the theoretical study, the observation of the double star. I studied the theory of the small heavenly bodies and announced "theory (Theorie der Kleinen Planeten) of the asteroid" from 1898 through 1911. I won the ダモワゾー prize of the French scientific academy in 1894.

Asteroid (761) ブレンデリア was named in commemoration of Brendel.
