Mitsuru Hotta
Mitsuru Hotta (Mitsuru, from July 23, 1935 to July 8, 2015 when I dug it) is a Japanese botanist. I am known for the study of the field of the plant taxonomy.

Brief career history
I was born in Osaka. I learned University of Osaka Prefecture after graduation in Kyoto University and became a professor at Kagoshima University from assistant professor at Kyoto University, 1988 from 1972. I established a southwest Japanese plant information research institute after Kagoshima University retirement in 2001 and became a director. I acted as the president of the Kagoshima junior college from 2002. I performed taxonomic studies such as taro department, Japanese banana plant department, Orchidaceae, Liliaceae, Japanese parsley department, the gesneria family. I organized Sumatra nature study project and performed a plant collection in a Southeast Asian tropical rain forest. I listed Nepenthes adnata of the genus of the taro department, ペディケラルム genus (Pedicellarum) and pitcher plant department.
It is Kyoto University doctor of science in 1970. The title of the article "Taxonomy of the family Araceae in Eastern Asia" (classification of the taro department plant of the East Asia) [1].
I won "the international exposition memorial award of the Sachinosuke Matsushita flower" in Kumagusu Minakata Prize, 2012 in 2009.
On July 8, 2015, I die because of marrow dysplasia syndrome in a house type nursing home in Kagoshima-shi. 79 years old death (age at death 81). 叙正四位, 瑞宝中綬章追贈 [2].
