Achievements
Improved Japanese style furnace "エンザロ ジコ"
Kesa Kishida proceeds to the western part of Kenya, the エンザロ (Enzaro) village of the shore of Lake Victoria for population control education as a volunteer of JICA in 1991 [11]. As a result of investigation of one and a half years, Kishida who thought that a decrease in infant mortality was a point to infiltrate population control education into the village told housewives of the エンザロ village what I made Japanese style 竈 (furnace) with local materials and cooked based on experience at the time when oneself lived a life in Tono-shi in 1993. Because this 竈 comprises three mouths to hang a thing and the pan which are superior in thermal efficiency than the cooking in the naked light performed conventionally locally, I can perform plural cooking at the same time, and the firewood is in the conventional advantage such as finishing it with a quarter, too. As a result of sterilization by boiling of the water becoming easy conventionally, and having become able to swallow up the hygienic cooled hot water anytime, a local hygiene state improved dramatically, and there was the result such as the digging a well activity performed for the same period, and the death rate of infants younger than five years in this way decreased to one to 135 (all quantity of the child born after furnace introduction in エンザロ village for five years) from one of seven. In addition, it may be said that I put constant result about the population control that there is for the purpose of being original because the number of the birth before furnace introduction for 5 years was 283 people. Because I am standing even if Japanese style 竈 does not stoop down for an impossible posture unlike conventional African 竈 and can cook it, the low back pain of housewives decreases and brings the advantage to become healthy [12].
Sandals "patty patty"
Because there were many people who lived a life barefoot in エンザロ village, Kishida who sent deep interest to the issue of AIDS fashion in Kenya made the Japanese straw sandals which I made with local materials as part of livingry activity widely available. I pushed forward introduction to protect the foot of the obstetrical teacher from the blood of the HIV-positive woman in childbed at first, but because the best boy of the field showed interest to the manufacturing method, I will take it in for school education and am utilized as the hygiene teaching materials and footwear for the rest room letting you think about the risk of the bare foot.
Kishida did not always know the making of sandals. Kishida who worried about a disease infecting it from a wound because a wound was formed on a sole barefoot hit on sandals of Tono as the footwear which even a local person could make without hanging money and left for the tradition garden of Dofuchi-cho when I went back at one time from Africa in 1996 and learned how to make when I learned the making of sandals from elderly who were there and wanted to return. It is said that I learned it in a short term. In addition, I use the tree of banana and skin, a corn shuck, the stem of the papyrus in substitution for straw in Kenya. [10]
Vegetable garden first-aid kit
I collect the plants which people of the village use traditionally and analyze it, and efficacy has children bring up checked around 20 kinds and I let each home take it to go if I grow big and put it in a first-aid kit. I do not go to the forest to look for it after a sick person occurred and in this way finish it. [13]In addition, not only I used it, but also the dried medicinal herb, medicine tree planned income creation by selling it. [14]
NPO establishment
I established a friend of boy Kenya of the non profit organization (NPO) in 1985 and acted as the vice-chief director from 2003 to death time [15].
