Kennichi Mikawa (みかわけんいち, May 15, 1946 -) is a Japanese enka ballad singer, talent.

Origin

Breeding

Breeding was complicated, and the child whom mother delivered between a certain child and wife date was Mikawa. Mother whom I brought up alone suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis, and it was left at the age of 2 years old by older sister and her husband of mother [1]. Because Mr. and Mrs. aunt did not have a child, I was loved like a child and learned dances since the days of a child on a violin, a picture, a day. It was time of the seventh grader that I knew that it was not biological parent [1].

I quit a high school in one year and, toward the entertainment world, enter the Toho entertainment school to feed "two mother" [1]. For 1,964 years, I pass for the 17th "Daiei Motion Picture newcomer".

In 1968, "night of Kushiro" made a hit and made a profit of 450,000 pieces. I was filmized at "night of Kushiro" by a hit, and Mikawa appeared, too. It is appeared for the first time in "night of Kushiro" by the 19th NHK Red and White Singing Contest.

In 1971, I win the fourth Japan cable broadcasting award star Prize, the fourth Japan words award grand prix in "the dynasty of the woman".

"Give me money in November," but is released. It became the topic with an original title for those days, but was prohibited from a song in NHK at the time. A recital of the 10th anniversary of the debut was held in NHK hall in 1975.

  • 上記の通り紅白歌合戦では毎年のように高価で豪華な衣装を引っ下げていたが、2005年はスキウタでランクインした越路吹雪の「愛の讃歌」を歌唱することになり、越路への畏敬の念からか、華美という点では抑えた衣装で出場した。とはいえ、当日かけていたファーは、大変高価なものである。
    • この年の紅白には氣志團出演箇所に、当時、美川が自身の「そっくりさん」として公認しているものまねタレント・そのまんま美川も出演していた（知名度を上げている魅川憲一郎も公認しており東京公演の際は呼ぶ事もある）。
    • なお、紅白には白組（男性チーム）から出場している。
  • 2014年、自身の公演時に報道陣の取材を受けた際、過去の紅白連続出場について、「ヒット曲があったから出られたわけじゃないのよ。CMで話題になって出場して、それが長年続いた」と語った。また音楽専門誌記者は、美川の元事務所関係者が「ヒット曲がないのに紅白に出場し続けるのは大変だった」と発言していたことを証言している[14]。
  • 作詞・作曲を吉幾三が担当した1994年発売のCDシングル「おだまり」は、吉にできあがったばかりの楽譜をステージ上で渡され、吉が弾くギターの伴奏のみで楽譜を見ながらデュオで歌ったのがお披露目である。翌95年の紅白では豪華衣装に派手なビッグバンドの伴奏で歌った。
  • かつて石川郡美川町（現石川県白山市）に存在した美川下水処理場（北陸自動車道沿い）の水槽塔に書かれた「美川 県一の町」は美川本人も快諾しており、「笑いの金メダル」でも紹介されていた。しかし老朽化のため、2010年12月をもって解体・撤去されている。
  • 誤報ではあったが、生前には親交が深かった木原光知子や親友の小林幸子との結婚話が話題になったこともある。
  • アメリカン・エキスプレスのセンチュリオンカード（クレジットカードの最高グレードである、いわゆるブラックカード）を持っている。
  • パチンコ・パチスロのキャラクターとしても登場。2002年には京楽より「CR P-MAN」が、2006年にはオーイズミより「美川 さそり座のサラリーマン」が登場した。

実は2007年中ごろに髪型が変わっている。2007年8月31日放送分の『徹子の部屋』においても黒柳徹子に「御髪（おぐし）を変えられましたのね？」と振られたが、美川が「そんなことより聞いてくださいよー」と自ら切り返し髪型の話題を遮った。
  • 2004年に島田紳助が所属する吉本興業の女性マネージャーに暴行した問題に関し、「彼女にマネージャーとして何ができるの?偉そうにしてない?暴力を振るわれる相手も悪いわ」とコメントし、紳助を擁護する立場を取った。
  • 少年時代は自分のことを「ボクちゃん」といい、ガキ大将のような存在だった、とテレビ番組で語っている。
  • 1998年、柳ヶ瀬商店街振興組合連合会の名誉理事長に就任。
  • 美川が岐阜市柳ヶ瀬を訪ねた際に利用したタクシーの運転手から、その運転手が柳ヶ瀬に住み着いたきっかけが美川の『柳ヶ瀬ブルース』であったと聞き、美川は「この歌を歌っていて良かったと感じた」という[15]。
  • 2006年11月に長崎市の観光名誉大使に選出され、シングル『長崎みれん』を発売。2007年2月の長崎ランタンフェスティバルでは皇帝パレードに皇帝役で参加した。ちなみに、この年のランタンフェスティバルは美川が出演したこともあって、期間中に当時過去最高の92万人が来場した。
  • 前述の大麻事件の後しばらく低迷が続き落ち込む美川を見て、親友のうつみ宮土理は「またあなたの時代が来るから、くさらないで」と言って励ました。
  • 過去に二度逮捕された大麻事件について美川は『バイキング』（フジテレビ、2016年9月7日放送）にて、「クスリを一時やめても、また誘惑にかられて悪魔がささやく」「人生ダメになって死んでしまいたいというくらいにギリギリに追い込まれる」と、自らの体験談を語っている。美川は二度の大麻事件から自分が立ち直り、再び歌手として再起出来たのは「生みの母と育ての母の二人の存在があったから。背負うものがあったから頑張れて、地獄から這い上がれたんです」と述懐している[16]。
  • 宮沢りえと貴花田の婚約破棄について後年りえの母で所属事務所「エム・ツー企画」の代表取締役・宮沢光子に依頼され、貴花田との婚約を解消するようりえ本人に電話で説得したと主張している。光子を懇意にしていた美川は光子から「りえが女将としてやっていけるとは思えない」と聞き、りえに対して「あんたは背負ってるものが重すぎる。あんたも母一人子一人。私も2人の母（生みの母と育ての母）を背負ってきた。そういう家庭に生まれたらしょうがない、運命だから。おかみさんになったら、お母さんどうするの?ずっと面倒みていかないといけないのよ」と説得した。[17]
