History

I am opened as "Yokohama masterpiece seat" on December 25, 1952 [²]. As for "the foreign film, the drama, the Japanese movie were got close to in the phrase of the masterpiece seat with a drama once as a hometown coherence-shaped movie theater on a day" on an adjacent, open Yokohama day.

I largely renew the hall in 1991. I divided conventional 1 building into a 2 building form and started as Jack building, the Betty building which showed mainly on a foreign film who showed mainly on a Japanese movie again. The hall name was changed by current "cinema Jack & Betty", too.

I suffer the closing once afterwards in February, 2005 because Chuo Kogyo Ltd. which ran the hall with a drama on the above-mentioned Yokohama day discontinued its business due to poor performance. However, some raises pushing of the local movie fan, and フレンダム Ltd. continues. "Koganecho project" to plan the activation of the local town affected administration in form of mutual cooperation and was able to continue performance again. While this is because the facilities of the hall were substantial relatively newly, and a drama is retained once likewise on the Yokohama day that I closed for the same reason in February, 2005 by フレンダム, it is contrastive with what was demolished by the reason of the deterioration of the building in April, 2007.

It was succeeded formally to エデュイットジャパン established newly in March, 2007 Co., Ltd., and administration by the company was started in August, 2007. The current screening form is cinema Jack of the double feature masterpiece seat and cinema Betty of the special first-run showing building of single hall origin. For 1:00 period, the Cafe theater (20 seats) of the screening was added to DVD, too.
