Career

It was 1973 that one's own story sold for the first time. At the age of the teens, I found an interesting story in "Reader's Digest" which I read when I worked part-time at the cause of father who was an orthotist. I took the pen immediately and I wrote the short story like 2 paragraphs and applied. A work was taken up with December, 1973 issue of the magazine and received a check of 100 dollars as the prize money in a few minutes. In addition, there were the expectations whether would sell and sent a different short story to a magazine, but was just rejected [2].

During Kentucky University attendance at school, I wrote a novel of 50 pages of length that I could publish by the problem from a professor when I received a master class of the creative writing for the first time. As a result of having thought about what kind of book sold, I chose a history romance, but did not think that I would read a work aloud possibly then. It was laughed to both a professor and a classmate, but a work at that time becomes the basis of maiden work "Island Flame" [3]. It was about 1981 that the work by the same author was published, and ロバーズ was still 24 years old [4].

Because the history romance things of the paperback filled up the shelf in those days when maiden work "Island Flame" was published, the work of ロバーズ disappeared from a shelf for approximately only three weeks, too. The publishing company which did not know the sales of the book of the fashion at the time was unwilling about the writing request of the different work in ロバーズ. I continued living a life that I wrote a novel during a daytime break in the room for the woman of the clinic while working in a doctor's office of father because the payment of the bill remained, and, in ロバーズ which quitted a law school to devote itself to a writer, second product "To Love a Man" of the modern romantic suspense was completed three months later. This work sold immediately in the publishing company unlike the aforesaid, and the career as the writer began in earnest [5].

I published more than 3 history romance things including "Sea Fire" which became the sequel to maiden work in several years from it [5]. After a publishing company of second product "To Love a Man", I made a contract to write a history romance and a modern romantic suspense thing as for by one in a year with a new publishing company. I will write only a history romance by the request of the publishing company which foresaw when the market of the modern romance reduces from the late 1980s through early 1990s. In the early 1990s, I changed the publishing company to Dell, and result "One Summer" which conveyed that I wanted to challenge a modern romance was completed, and this became the novel for ロバーズ in the present age of the first hard cover. By success of the work by the same author, ロバーズ became able to concentrate on a modern thing. The work is translated into 11 languages in the world [6].

Known as sensuality being full as for the work of ロバーズ [7]. The magazine "romantic Times" commented, "ロバーズ surpasses talent to bring humor into character molding and the close scene" [4]. I won a prize for carrier achievement that the magazine hosted and was nominated for romantic Times prize four times and won it once in "Irresistible" [8]. I won a favorite romance novelist section in a prize for silver writing of Affaire de Coeur six times.

Now the son ([9] living in straight 〉, Jack <1,995 year student 〉) and Louisville of the hometown in straight 〉, Chris <1,990 year in Peter <1,983 year.of Doug ロバーズ and three of the husband Her parents and three siblings live near, too [5].
