James Edward Moore (James Edward Moore, from November 19, 1902 to January 28, 1986) is an American officer. I acted as Ryukyu Islands high commissioner from July 4, 1957 to April 30, 1958. MassachusettsNew BedfordA native place.
Career
It was born in November 19, 1902. I graduated from a military academy in 1924.
I went to the front during World War II in the European front and participated in Normandy landing operation. I took office as the Ryukyu Islands civil administration Deputy Secretary who was the forerunner of the Ryukyu Islands high commissioner afterwards in 1955 after having successively held district commanders in southern Hawaii.
By high commissioner system introduction of 1957, I take office as the first high commissioner. The requisition of the military ground became the problem and developed into the struggle including the island in those days. Therefore I pushed an anti-communism policy to oppress Okinawa Populist party saying that I agitated for these exercise. For example, I performed exile (I assumed the criminal record by the Populist party case a disqualification matter) by announcement revision in Kamejiro Senaga of the Mayor of Naha in Okinawa Populist party officials.
He died on January 28, 1986 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
