Origin of the place name

I filled up the Arano Pond whom there was earlier of the Xinye (にいの) village (Niino, Omaezaki-shi) and, early in the Edo era, was called "Xinye Ikeshinden" by Nitta because I did it, but it was checked in "Ikeshinden" by new Nomura when I became independent. In the hometown, there is the legend that three beggars opened the village, but does not know whether it is true.

Change after the Meiji era

By the municipality organization enforcement of October 1, 1889, 4 villages of Ikeshinden, Kadoya (a corner), Godo (ごうど), Shiobarashinden merge and become Ikeshinden-mura. I belonged to the Joto county at first, but belonged to Ogasa-gun by the unification of the county. Town organization took effect on November 1, 1940 and became Ikeshinden-cho, but, on March 31, 1955, I was complicated in the morning with 4 villages of Hina-mura, Sakura village, Hiki-mura (go down), the Xinye village, and it was in Hamaokacho. The place name of Ikeshinden is left as the names such as a kindergarten, the high school other than a capital letter name now.
