The dam where Awa Chuo Dam (bubble center dam) was built by Minamiboso-shi, Chiba, the second grade river, Maruyama river water system Maruyama river. In earth-fill dam of 36 meters in height, it is a dam for the purpose of the irrigation. The name of the dam lake (man-made lake) is called Lake Maruyama (circle and Mako).

History
(1958), Awa center land improvement district establish it in 1958 [2]. Awa Chuo Dam was built as part of the Awa center water improvement business that was irrigation drainage business of Chiba under prefectural management and was completed in (1970) in 1970 [2]. A main line irrigation canal of 25 kilometers in length is completed successively in (1979) in 1979, and maintenance of the farmland of 976 hectares is completed by farm maintenance more in (1988) in 1988 [2].

The outskirts are surrounded by the mountains of the Mineoka Range, and National highway No. 410 runs in the east side.
