Summary

Was opened (1916) as 芝居小屋大榮座 in Imadegawa 1,000 Higashiiru ル of Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto on November 1 1916 [1]; [7]. The original manager (abbot) was Masajiro Kawazoe [7]. The playhouse, the movie theater of the same name existed in Oi-machi, Ena-gun, Gifu (current prefecture Oi-machi, Ena-shi), but the relations are unknown [15]. I enter Nikkatsu Kansai studio later, and it is said that there is the time that was a leader of a troupe of the theatrical company in the times when Tomiyasu Ikeda who converted to a movie director was Kabuki actor Matsusaburo Onoe. I move to peaceful shrine Emperor's residence ruins neighborhood of 1,000 floods, authority of new flood Tsuchiya town Higashiiru ル Tanakacho in (1920) in 1920 [1]. It was located in around 300 meters south than an area of so-called "west camp Kyogoku" to point at between Imadegawa, upper Chojamachi of the authority of 1,000 [16]. I filled up a pond and, according to the story of the aged person of the land, assumed it a site [17].

According to "Kamigyo historic spot and culture" (1992 third issue), there is it with "1937 west camp Theater and looking over" [1], but the record that I have already performed (1923) as west formation theater in March in 1923 remains [9]. It is village Sennichiro, a presentation record of "a wife" by Rokuro Akashi and others in a month performed from 嵐璃昇 performed from March 14, the same year, "white waves five men" and [8], May 4, the same year by the Ichikawa young fellows company [9]. As a result of having investigated the building of a theater, an activity photo studio (movie theater), the variety hall in charge of the director Kyoto section architecture according to the "Asahi, Osaka newspaper Kyoto printing block" article dated December 23 (1927) in 1927, the hall has it pointed out with "a thing needing some repair" [2]. It was building, a large quantity seat (のちの 1,000 Nikkatsu building), thes (のちの west camp Daiei Motion Picture) of the fortune, a continuing for a long time bower for Kyoto seat (のちの Kyoto Roxy film theater, current MOVIX Kyoto), west camp empire building (のちの Omiya Toho Eiga Co., Ltd. Theater), Honcho building, Horikawa center building (のちの Horikawa culture theater), west formation 8,000 generations that had repair required pointed out at the level with the hall (のちの west camp continuing for a long time seat); [2]. The owner of the hall as of (1928) is Yoshio Yamamoto for 1,928 years [14].

I start the business as the movie theater in (1937) in 1937 [1]. The performance of the hall of (1940) replaced the program in a new work once on 3rd for two times of night and day in 1940 [1]. The admission 30 sen [1]. Performance of the woman kabuki that Kumehachi Ichikawa appears particularly for the second generation when I come back to the demonstration stage by June of the year, and an advertisement to limit naniwabushi recitation of Yonewaka Suzuki to "Kyoto date newspaper" with it on 13th, the following day on June 12, the same year, and to stage was touched and was labelled as "authorized kabuki of the west formation one and only" from the same month 14 is performed, and the record that it follows it in July of the year, and the woman kabuki of the same performer was performed remains [10]. World War II was started before long, and the performance of the Shochiku nation road company's show corps was carried out (1942) on February 22 in 1942 [10]. Is not placed in the movie theater list of the "movie yearbook 1942 version" "movie yearbook 1943 version" without coming back to the movie theater in wartime [18]; [19]. I began remodeling at late the same year, and it was performed (1943) from January 1 in 1943, the following day, "I perform a shakeup announcement very much particularly" that Kumehachi Ichikawa and others appeared for the second generation [11]. Danshiro Ichikawa, Jitsukawa deferred storehouse, 市川巌笑 and others changed the program for one month for the third generation and continued appearing [11]. The record that I performed (1944) until the end of March in 1944 remains in wartime [11]. After that I am missing.

It is the record oldest after the war by the advertisement placed in "Kyoto Shimbun" belonging to it on the same day after the war that Arataro Ichikawa and others performed Kabuki publicly (1946) as "a new star theatrical company" for the third generation from August 25 in 1946 [12]. The performance in the hall from December 20 is the last (1947) 1947, and wild Taro dies (1948) on April 17 1948 [12]; [20]. I completely switched it to a movie theater by (1952) in 1952 [3]. The hall at the time of the same year was personal management of Yoshio Yamamoto, and Yamamoto combined with a manager [3]. Kyoto performance to assume Yamamoto a representative succeeded the management of the hall in (1953) in 1953, and Yamamoto continued a manager [4]. A representative of the company and the manager of the hall took over from Kunio Yamamoto [5] in the next year, and this system followed until closing [6]. Kyoto performance Co., Ltd. was a company unlike Kyoto Tochi Kogyo and I did Kunio Yamamoto with a representative, and the capital put the head office in ル Nishiiri ル that is the hall [6] in 2 million yen lower street hawker Jofuku-ji Temple and ran Kitano Toei, the 3 building of the Omiya Toho Eiga Co., Ltd. theater in those days in Kyoto-shi other than the hall [21].

According to the every year document of the current events movie news agency, it is not placed after "movie manual 1963" last [6] what was placed in "movie manual 1962" which is "a movie theater list" at the time [22]; [23]. According to "movie yearbook 1963 of the company," (1962), the hall finish the business as movie theaters in 1962, and it is written that I switched a business condition to the pachinko parlor [13]. According to "Kamigyo historic spot and culture" (1992 third issue), I closed at February (1968) 1968 [1]. The ruins are considered to be Saraji and are "a new flood garage" now [1]. Kitano Toei which Kyoto performance ran closes the Omiya Toho Eiga Co., Ltd. Theater each (1965) (1970) in August for 1,965 years in May in 1970 [1].
