The long time drama program limit that "Tuesday suspense Theater" (suspense げきじょう to go to) ran on September 27, 2005 from September 29, 1981, and was broadcasted in Nippon Television on every Tuesday. It is a drama for so-called two hours. Popular name "fire サス."

Summary

As a general rule, according to the program title which broadcasted a suspense drama of the one episode a week conclusion (there is the work of the pole rarely previous latter part form) to every from 21:00 to 22:54 [1] (JST), it was the program which was specialized in a suspense drama. Producer

Opening theme

The opening theme was used in the program beginning, and the last part of the opening theme was connected to a rust part of the theme song of 各期. Theme song

The theme song (theme music) was used in an opening and ending and was used in form to connect a rust part to the last part of the opening theme in the opening, but it was only an opening theme from broadcast (eighth generation opening) in 2005 in the program beginning and did not connect it to the rust part of the theme song. Broadcast form

Title logo

The title logo of "the Tuesday suspense Theater" is italic type of ゴナ. I was used in the part of the opening title back beginning and the eye catch. The letter of the logo inclines on the left side and the right side, and the logo of the seventh generation is different in a degree.

Opening

After having displayed a title logo of "the Tuesday suspense Theater" to an opening theme (flashback theme) in the program beginning, cut constitution of the whole story enters. And I display a title logo in the part that BGM leads from a flashback theme to a theme song some other time (but the opening of the eighth generation does not have the connection from a flashback theme to a theme song, and the title logo displays it only in the program beginning).

The work of the film photography was opening, offer base → end title of film specifications in an opening until the third generation, and the work of the biTheo photography was a picture corresponding to each called opening, offer base → end title of video specifications. A telop and the end roll during a program were forms including the film firing. It becomes only opening, offer base → end title of the video method with the work of a work, the video shoot of the film photography in the opening after the fourth generation.

The indication of the offer sponsor displayed it on the last part of the opening CG (when there is not offer sponsor indication by the rebroadcast in BS Nippon Television, I put a title logo in the lower right), but I was changed basically after the middle of the seventh generation to the form to tie a part comprised only in the highlight scene of the drama some other time last, and to pour over it of the opening. 各回のタイトル名についてはシンプルな白抜きの文字で表示されることが多いが、警視庁鑑識班シリーズのように多色の独自ロゴを使用しているシリーズもある。 オープニングの主題歌の部分はCD音源と違う場合がほとんどである。

アイキャッチ

CM前には必ずアイキャッチを入れていた。映像はオープニングタイトルバックに対応したものが各期で用いられた。BGMの曲名は「火曜サスペンス劇場アイキャッチ」（作曲・木森敏之）。いずれも「サスペンス調」の映像・音楽であり、特に音楽は今でもサスペンス調を醸し出す音楽として使われることがよくある。予告なしにCMに入る傾向が多い最近のテレビ番組に於いては、わかりやすく良心的といえる措置であったといえる。

権利切れ作品を放送している一部系列外局ではこのアイキャッチを入れないところもある（例：瀬戸内海放送（テレビ朝日系列）では、アイキャッチ直前に右上に自局ロゴを出してCM入りする）。また、広島テレビ放送が『土曜ドラマスペシャル』等のタイトルで定期的に再放送していた頃は、音楽のみそのまま流し、画面をブルーバックまたは静止画CGに番組名を入れたものに差し替えていた。

エンディング

初期作品では、主題歌の楽曲名を先頭で表示した後、出演者・スタッフの順に表示したが、必ずしもロール形式とは限らなかった。

1986年10月以降、エンディングは主題歌を流しながら原則としてロール形式で表示し、最初に制作局（通常、「日本テレビ」）、キャスト、スタッフの順に流し、最後に制作会社を表示していた。最初に制作局（基本的には「日本テレビ」）を表示し最後に制作会社を表示するという点は、制作会社に制作を委託したアニメ・ドラマ作品には、日テレ自体は「制作」クレジットに連名で載せない、あるいは別扱いとするという、日テレの方針のためとみられる（例：東映制作の場合、「制作 日本テレビ（日テレ）」 - 「製作著作 東映株式会社」となる（ただし、自社制作の場合やNTV映像センター制作などの作品は除く））。また、ほとんどの作品は文字列を横に配して下から上へとエンディングロールを流す形態をとっていた。なお、日テレ以外の地上波局で再放送する場合は「制作 日本テレビ」のテロップをはずしている。 エンディング時に流れる主題歌はCD音源と同じ場合が多い。 バラードと横顔はCDが発売される前とされた後とでは違いがあった。 バラードは前奏の始め部分が変わり 横顔は発売前はオープニングで使用されているバージョンがエンディングで流れ発売後はCD音源に変わった。

副音声・字幕放送

副音声では、視覚障害者のために「アイパートナー」と称される解説担当者（石丸博也）による場面解説を民放ドラマでは初めて1983年4月（紺野美沙子主演、「突然の明日」）より放送していた[8]。このアイパートナーは、主人公などの心理描写や細かい情景も言葉で行われ、単独のラジオ番組としても成立しうる程のものだった。視覚障害者のみならず、家事などで一時画面から離れざるを得ない主婦などにとっても声だけで内容を追うことが出来るため、好評だった。「かぶり（=首）を振る」「回想･･･（回想シーンの描写）･･･回想終わる」など、独特の言い回しが多い。

副音声のオープニング（オープニングタイトルバックの部分）では、まず、『火曜サスペンス劇場』のタイトルコールがあり（オープニングのタイトルコールは時差放送の局においてもそのまま放送）、続いて放映する作品のタイトル、あらすじ、主演・原作・脚本・監督の名前が紹介されていた。また、エンディングでは主題歌にのせて「主なキャスト・・・（それぞれの役名と配役）・・・そのほかの皆さんでした。」と主要キャストの紹介がなされ、最後に「この番組の案内役・アイパートナーは、私、石丸博也でした。」の言葉で終わっていた。

この試みはのちに「水曜グランドロマン」など他の単発2時間ドラマでも実施されるようになり、現在も「金曜ロードSHOW!」などの枠で単発ドラマが放送される場合や、日本映画（アニメの一部除く）で解説放送を行う回がある。

提供読みは主音声と副音声で同じアナウンサーが担当しており、主音声では（企業名）＋ご覧のスポンサーがお送りします。（しました。）に対し、副音声では企業名全てを読み上げており、ご覧のスポンサー相当では提供クレジットが3～4社表示されることから、それに対応するため非常に早口となっていた。なお、副音声の提供アナウンスが1990年代初頭の一時期、「この番組は」と読み始めず、「この番組の副音声は」と読み上げていた時期がある。

また、副音声とともに聴覚障害者のための字幕放送も行っていた。

生放送

この番組は、全編生放送で行われた事が一度だけある。タイトルは「たったひとりのあなたのために」（1985年12月24日放送、出演：岸本加世子、松村雄基、刀根麻理子）である。本放送以降、くまもと県民テレビでの再放送の予定が新聞に掲載されたことがあるが、実際には放送されず、他の作品が放送された。

本編終了後には次回予告が放送されていた。BGMは「フラッシュバックテーマ」。ナレーション音声はあらすじの説明で最後に「火曜サスペンス劇場。（次回のタイトル）。ヨル9時03分ご期待ください。」とコメントする（VTRでは同時に「○月○日ヨル9時03分 ご期待ください。」と表示）。なお、次回予告は「火曜サスペンス劇場 制作だより」として放映されていた時期がある（BGMは主題歌を編曲したもの）。 1998年10月13日から30秒に短縮された。

事前ミニ番組

火曜サスペンスクイズ

1998年10月から2005年3月まで（21時03分 - 22時54分枠時代）、直前の21時00分 - 21時03分には事前番組として作品のごく一部にあたるクイズに答えると3万円分の商品券が当たるという『火曜サスペンスクイズ』が放送されていた（ナレーションは来宮良子。STVとytvは、同様の内容で独自のクイズを出題していた時期がある。）。クイズの問題は、ドラマ中のシーンに関するもので、犯人、事件の手掛かり、地名などを当てさせるものだった。どの場面に関するものか分からないため、正解しようとすると必然的に最初から最後まで見ることになるため、番組の最後に出演者が「答えはこの後すぐ」のコールを行っていた。ここでも副音声では応募のあて先を読み上げるなど違う音声が流れていたが、インターネットでのエントリーも可能だった。

今夜のサスペンス

1998年9月以前はスタジオから日本テレビの女性アナが内容のさわりを紹介する『今夜のサスペンス』が放送されていた。なお一部の地方のNNN系列局はニュースや天気予報などのに差し替えていた。
