The international elderly person year

International elderly person age (こくさいこうれいしゃねん, International Year of Older Persons) is the international age that the United Nations set for the spread, promotion of "United Nations principle (independence, participation, care, the self-realization of the elderly person and realization of the dignity) for elderly people" in (1999) in 1999. The theme towards "the society for all generations" (towards a society for all ages).

Process

This international action plan was a thing to help as guidelines on aging measures of each country [7], but too lasted for many divergences, and gathered it, and 5 "United Nations principles for elderly people" that, as a general rule, raised were adopted by realization of independence, participation, care, self-realization, the dignity of the elderly person at the 46th United Nations general meeting in (1991) in 1991 by 18 items because was too detailed [8] [1]; [3] [4] [7].

And international the elderly person year and a resolution to do are adopted at the 48th United Nations general meeting of (1992) in (1999) in 1999 in 1992, the following day to diffuse these international action plan and United Nations principles more; for a theme in the international elderly person year aging many; and was related to a field, many generations, and "aim at the society for all generations" in consideration of being various problems was adopted [1]; [3] [4].

Action by the United Nations
