The Hazan Itaya Memorial () is the museum where is Chikusei in Chikusei-shi, Ibaraki honoring an achievement of ceramist, Hazan Itaya City. The outskirts are maintained as Hazan Itaya memory park.

Summary

The wave mountain was a person presented with the Order of Culture for a ceramist for the first time, and a memorial was established in the straight family name.

Facilities

• A pavilion: An article and the Order of Culture of the connections such as a work, the memento of the wave mountain are displayed.
• The birthplace: The house of the wooden tile one-story house. With the building which was in the middle of the Edo era, I received the designation of Ibaraki designated cultural assets (historic spot) in (1965) in 1965.
• A studio: I removed and rebuilt the studio which was in Tokyo, Tabata. I display a Mikata fuel hole inverse flame-type circle kiln and the favorite tools which plains Kosuke who was the co-worker of the wave mountain designed.
• A commemorative park: The image (Saburo Yoshida product) of the wave mountain is put.

History

• The birthplace and land are donated to the wave mountain teacher memory society Foundation (1963) in 1963 by the will of - wave mountain [²].
• It is opened (1980) in 1980 by - birthplace trace. The studio which was in Tabata in 期 transfers 17 anniversaries of death of the wave mountain in a garden of the birthplace [²].
• I maintain - neighborhood (1995) as Hazan Itaya memory park in April in 1995, and refurbishing is opened.

Use information

• Admission: 200 yen, group 150 yen (more than ten people) (as for the common ticket with the doing it art museum for show, as for 300 yen, less than high school student, free)
• A closed day: Monday (in the case of a holiday the next day), the year-end and New Year holidays (from December 28 to January 4)

Access

• Approximately 10 minutes on foot from East Japan Railway Co., Moka railroad, Kanto Railway Shimodate Station; (approximately 800 meters)
• From a Joban Expressway valley sum original interchange approximately 40 kilometers via National highway No. 294 .50.
