A background and breeding

I was born in the poor family of ancient パイアニア (Paiania) and worked as a sailor at one time, but, by delivery skillful in it and cunning character, rose to the position that was high in Athnes. I supported King in the war that the Macedonian King ピリッポス second performed for オリュントス (Olynthus) and, therefore, came to have sense of the bitter hatred for the life in conflict with Demosthnes whom I supported till then.

with the Macedonian kingdom of relationships

In a fight of カイロネイア, Demades became a captive the fight with a Macedonian kingdom. Demades who gave a good impression to the ピリッポス second was freed with captives of the friend and worked in order to bring peace treaty between Macedonian kingdom and Athnes.

I saved the life of eloquent speakers of the Demosthnes and others hated person who was about to become for retaliating of Alexandros(Tralles) partly because Demades was in favor with prince Alexandros(Tralles) (a later "great king") and received a bribe. It was an achievement of Demades exclusively that Alexandros(Tralles) who destroyed Thebes treated Athnes generously.

Demades was active in support of a Macedonian kingdom, but I received an offered bribe, and there was that the fine that, therefore, was heavy was imposed more than once, and citizenship was deprived the opposed camp of at last. When an army of Antipatros approached B.C. 322 (Macedonian general), Demades was reinstated and was sent to Antipatros as an ambassador (from Athnes). Before departure, they let Demades persuaded citizens (I insisted on anti-Macedonia), and a death sentence give to the Demosthnes alliance, and Demosthnes escaped from Athnes. Peace was concluded by the contents which were very disadvantageous to Athnes as a result that Demades became an ambassador.

When I was given a different mission from (or former than it), Athnes in B.C. 318 and proceeded to Macedonia, it was found out with Perdikkas who was a rival of Antipatros to have planned a plot, and Demades was sentenced to death in Perak by Antipatros. Demades was the person who was cunning for avarice, but both the talent and the results were a certain superior eloquent speaker. Oh, according to Rhianos, as for Demades, it is said that oneself was suppressed after the son whom I embraced was murdered cruelly by son カッサンドロス of Antipatros. カッサンドロス said that Demades slandered Antipatros in a letter to Perdikkas and justified own act [1].

Legend

Demades is said to have been an impromptu master hand. His book is not hardly left and is to be quite possible as one of the reasons why only a piece is left for.

The piece of the speech to defend itself by own act that his name was added to is seen in writing "Oratores Attici" (ii. 438) of curl Otfrid Muller (Karl Otfried Müller), but this truth is considerably doubtful.

According to Demades, the proverb called "(Draco's laws were written with blood, not with ink) where the law of the driving contest (legislatrix) is written with blood" is done [2].

It is considered to be a thing by Demades to have called the money that a nation spends in public holidays and festival days "democratic cement" [3].
