Career
Amateur era
After Okushiri Junior High School graduation of Okushiri Island, I advance to 函館大有斗高校. I go into the Koshien South Hokkaido qualifier final of the summer of 1972 as an ace, but I am defeated by narrow margin by a Tomakomai mechanic in 0-2 and lose Koshien participation. I enter Nippon University after graduation. There is Nippon University at the time for the slump period and, in the eastern capital University league, experiences two copies of demotion (only as for 1 season) after a league in a fall in 1974. However, I gave the good grade of eight wins four defeats in the league in a fall in 1976 and recorded striking out (in the eastern capital University league those days second place next to 83 striking out of Hiroshi Maruko) in 78 in a season. In addition, I am picked by the fifth Japan and the United States University baseball championship representative from Japan of the same year. Some leagues 62 games pitch in total, 22 wins 21 defeats, pitcher's earned run average 2.48, 242 striking out. There are Takaki Izumi (Director at Hitachi, Ltd. - Nippon University) and others in the university same period. I received first place nomination of Hankyu Braves in a draft meeting of the autumn of the same year and joined it.
Professional era
I give seven wins in the first-year 1977, and I am picked by a rookie of the year and pitch for the Japan Series. I participate in an all-star game for the first time in the second-year 1978 and recorded 13 wins in a season, but there is not a pitch and there is the trouble secession of Takashi Yamaguchi and will add to a burden on Hisashi Yamada and Yutaro Imai for trouble though I get on the bench by the Japan Series with Yakult Swallows.
There is not a troop pitch and I became handled as any retirement, but revive as a relief pitcher because of low back pain from 1982, the following day for 1:00 period in 1981. I returned to the starting pitcher in 1984. I win a title of the most victory by 21 wins in 1985. 20 winning pitchers in the Pacific League did not appear to Kazumi Saito of 2003 and were 20 last winning pitchers in the professional baseball world in the Showa era.
I won a title of the best pitcher's earned run average in 1986 and, in 1987, acted as the first start pitcher in place of Hisashi Yamada who acted as a start pitcher for 12 consecutive years till then in the entering professional eleventh year. However, this season is over for only seven wins. After Hankyu suffered from off in Orix in 1988, I carried a starting corner with Yukihiko Yamaoki, Nobuyuki Hoshino and others as the center of the pitching staff.
I was elected by an all-star game and I pitched for the second war on July 21 and recorded 4 striking out twice on the next day when Okushiri Island of the hometown suffered crushing damage by Hokkaido southwest offing earthquake and a fire and the tsunami with it on July 12, 1993. In addition, I lost an aunt by this earthquake disaster and was a powerful pitch that I bore Take Me Home, Country Roads feeling even immediately.
Kobe that was a stronghold of Orix BlueWave where oneself belonged to this time in 1995 was attacked by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and the game holding suffered the damage that was anxious about very much at one time, too. This age achieves the no-hit, no-run game in higher than first 40 years old in the NPB history oldest [1], history of NPB at the time of (Fujiidera Stadium) by game with Kintetsu Buffaloes of August 26. The team binds "がんばろう KOBE" for a password in solidarity and finally achieves first league championship in 11 years since 1984. Experience was valued by the Japan Series that faced Yakult Swallows and pitched for first round, but became a losing pitcher.
Decline became remarkable, and a pitch opportunity was not given the team by the Japan Series from 1996 age, the following day in the same year although I achieved a Pacific League straight victory either.
I retired from a season at 44 years old last in 1998.
The big unique breaking ball of the drop was called "a reed ball". This ball had a short finger, and Sato whom a fork ball was not thrown out to began to knit it for the thought "that I would catch with a thumb and a forefinger if I could not pick it up with a forefinger and the middle finger".
In addition, I was able to continue throwing a fast ball of the 140km/h per an hour level until a retirement. For the active play era, I instructed Nobuyuki Ebisu [2].
Retirement post
In 1999, I took office as a pitcher farm team coach of Orix. In Okushiri Island of the hometown, I established "Yoshinori Sato baseball exhibition room" for the uniform number of the active play era on November 11, 1999. When it was only for 2000 and was dismissed from Orix, in 2001, I acted as a baseball commentator of baseball commentator and Daily Sports of J SPORTS.
I am in charge of a pitcher troop coach from 2002 through 2004 in Hanshin Tigers. I brought up Kei Igawa [2] and made Jeff Williams a weight and contributed to first Central League championship in 18 years in 2003. In 2005, I take office as a pitcher farm team coach of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. I instructed Hisashi Takeda [2] and brought up Yu Darvish [3]. In 2006, the following day, I contribute to first league championship in 25 years, the best in Japan for the first time in 44 years as a pitcher troop coach. I contributed to the baseball team's first straight victory in 2007 [4]. It was given notice of that I did not contract in the next season on November 3 after the Japan Series in the same year, and Sato criticized tray Hillman and the front desk of the supervision saying "I said that it was not possible to have wanted you to say if time was bad, and the baseball team could not look for a job even if said to be it now whether it was enough only for the person with pleasure though I did not think much more though I apologized because it was a one-year contract and there was not good faith and was fixed beforehand, and to look for it" [5].
Sapporo ambitious へ of the professional baseball Masters League joins off in 2007. In addition, I entered into a management contract with a supermarket agent Co., Ltd. After having been active as a commentator in Sapporo TV, STV radio sun TV, J SPORTS in 2008, I took office as a troop pitcher coach of northeastern Rakuten Golden Eagle from October. I brought up Masahiro Tanaka [2].
On December 7, 2010, I place it in the slate (player section) with baseball palace [6]. To 2013 [7] when I put myself in the head case's shoes as a coach of Rakuten, I contributed to baseball team's first Pacific League championship and Japan Series conquest.
Because, in 2014, Hoshino rested for chronic low back pain on May 26; on behalf of Hoshino game with Tokyo Yakult Swallows of the day (Meiji Shrine baseball field) conduct (the game is defeated with one to four) [8]. Because it was recognized that a lumbar vertebrae herniated intervertebral disk and a thoracic vertebra yellow ligament ossification symptom developed in Hoshino by the later diagnosis, I announced a rest and the acting supervisor assumption of office of Hoshino of Sato by the Rakuten baseball team on May 27, the following day [9]. By the game with Yomiuri Giants of May 28, the following day (Tokyo Dome), is four to 0 as acting supervisor; the first ever victory [10]. On July 2, the baseball team announces that I assume Hiromoto Okubo of the Director at farm team acting Director at troop, and Sato will devote himself/herself to a pitcher troop coach [11]. It was announced that I did not make a contract of the next season on October 14 [12]. It was announced that I took office as a pitcher Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks troop coach on November 8, the same year [13]. I told Shota Takeda the reed ball [14] and brought up Takeda to an adult [15]. The team pitcher's earned run average of the first place [16], the team league championship was number one in Japan, and contributed two years in a row.
Characteristic, person as the player
The nickname "is good". Yu Darvish who was a student of Nippon Meat Packers Era sent advice, it "must be it on the telephone that a reed (Sato) said" to Masahiro Tanaka registered at Rakuten in those days right after joining an organization to Rakuten was decided [17]. I improved a form of Darvish so that a faster ball was thrown and remodeled the form of Tanaka who suffered of the burden into the upper body and brought you up to an ace. I have a good reputation for instruction to initiate into a suitable form individually without deleting a good point [18]. I made you say "the best pitcher coach in Japan" from Sennichi Hoshino [19]. Because I win the championship as a pitcher coach in Hanshin, Nippon Meat Packers, Rakuten, four baseball teams of SoftBank, I am said to be a championship contractor [15].
