Wolf forest mountain range (orchid rim さんみゃく, Rangrim Mountains, Korean :랑림산맥[1]) is a mountain range in the northern part of Korean Peninsula. I extend to the north and south in the west of the cover horse plateau. I belong now from Chagang-do of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) to P'yongan-namdo, Hamgyong-namdo.

The wolf forest Mountains form a part of the backbone (white head size trunk) of the Korean Peninsula with north 摩天嶺山脈 and Mts. Taihaku spreading out to the south, and it is in a watershed to divide the west Yellow Sea side and east Sea of Japan side into. 大同江, the big river including 清川江 in northern Korean Peninsula rise from the west of this mountain range. The high peak ranges on the east side of the mountain range and lowers towards the west. The highest peak is 2,260 meters above see level in 臥碣峰 (ウェガル peak, 와갈봉).

Some mountain ranges of the 1,000 meters grade part from the wolf forest Mountains parallel to a southwestern direction. Mts. Konan running in the southern coast of the Yalu Jiang, 狄踰嶺山脈 along 清川江, Myouko Mountains with the Mt. Myouko, others 彦眞山脈, an extinction bad mountain range hit this.

Resources

As for the main rock of the mountain range, limestone is distributed over the southern part and a northern part in granite, gneiss, crystalline rock. There are many underground resources such as copper, lead, zinc, too. In addition, it is a main production center of the wood in North Korea.

Subarctic zone-related coniferous trees and mixed forest are distributed, and, as for the flora, Alpine meadow opens in the areas more than 1,900 meters. A virgin forest is left in the Mt. five Kei (오가산), and Mt. five Kei nature reserve is set.
