The みやじま-maru (two generations)

The みやじま-maru (two generations)

The みやじま-maru (みやじままる) is a ship of the Miyajima ferry of the Japanese National Railways (Japanese National Railways) railroad ferry.

There is a circle (the second generation) not to show to sister ships. It is a common design, and the Sanyo circle that went into service for the same period is similar, but there is not it by the ship of the same type.

I describe the ここではみやじま-maru, a circle not to show.

Outline

When the みやじま-maru transferred a census register (1964) in the Oshima route in December in 1964, the Miyajima route found number of service by the Isuzu-maru, Tamagawa circle and the navigation of three motorboats (Miyuki, Misaki shades it). However, the Isuzu-maru and the Tamagawa circle were available for car loading, but I remodeled the naval cargo boat, and deterioration was intense. Therefore I plan the building of three equivalence ships. Under the influence that came to lend it a ship by a ferry rationalization plan of the Japanese National Railways Hiroshima Railway Bureau from (1964) on a route (Miyajima, Oshima, 仁掘) in the Hiroshima Railway Bureau in 1964, I do one with the ship which even which route is available for (Sanyo circle) and it remains and constructs two as an equivalence type (みやじま round shape).

The circle not to show as a みやじま round shape first ship is completed as a みやじま round shape second ship (1965) together in Kanda Shipbuilding on September 20 in 1965, and the みやじま-maru goes into service in the Miyajima route from October 1, the same year. There are few cosmetic differences, and the みやじま-maru, the circle not to show is slightly different from aggregate tonnage in speed.

It becomes the end of commission (1978) on September 19 in 1978, and I was sold by the service of the みやじま-maru はみやじま-maru (the third generation), but exist now in Mie.

It became the end of commission (1976) on July 24 in 1976, and the circle not to show was sold by the transfer of a census register to the Miyajima route of the Oshima-maru (renamed to Aki circle on July 14, 1976).

  • Capacity: 250 (at the time of the car loading 200)
  • A car: Nothing (less than 4m)
  • An engine: Diesel engine one 385HP
  • A voyage speed:

Other

There are five ships of the name of the "Miyajima circle" "みやじま-maru" on Miyajima route (as for the Christian era the service year on the Miyajima route).

Miyajima circle individual management → Sanyo railroad 1902 through 1905
みやじま-maru (the first generation) Japanese National Railways 1954 through 1964
みやじま-maru (the second generation) Japanese National Railways 1965 through 1978
みやじま-maru (the third generation) Japanese National Railways → West Japan Railway 1978 through 2006
みやじま-maru (the fourth generation) West Japan Railway → West Japan Railway Miyajima ferry 2006 ...

Because the Miyajima circle finishes the navigation on the Miyajima route for the Sanyo railroad era, it is not included in the each generation のみやじま-maru.
