The Kuroshio Current (a Romaji: JS Kuroshio, SS-596) is a submarine of the Marine Self Defense Force. Grow; the seventh warship of the model submarine. The name of a warship comes from it from the Kuroshio Current, and, for the Japanese war vessel which inherited this name, the submarine "SS-501 Kuroshio Current" hits it following the whirling current type submarine "SS-570 Kuroshio Current" the heat waves type destroyer "Kuroshio Current" of the old navy for the fourth generation.

Warship career

"The Kuroshio Current" started work as 2,700 tons of plans type submarine 8111 warship [¹] at Kawasaki Heavy Industries [²] Kobe shipyard on March 27, 2000 in 1999 based on the middle-term defense power improvement program and was placed on duty on launching, March 8, 2004 on October 23, 2002.

In the launching, a baptism held in Kawasaki shipbuilding Kobe factory first building berth in October, 2002, I was named "the Kuroshio Current" by Defense Agency Deputy Secretary Norihiko Akagi [³].

I participated in Rimpac 2006 from June 26, 2006 through July 28.

I belong to the first diving corps group third diving corps, and 定係港 is Kure now.
