Tateyamacho (I wait for a vertical mountain) is the town which ever existed in Awa-gun, Chiba. It is located in the central part of current Tateyama-shi. It is an area closer to Tateyama-jo Castle of the south side than current Uchibo Line Tateyama Station. Current Tateyama-shi was born by a new merger in 1939 and is the local government unlike Honcho.

History
- Tateyamacho, Kamisanagura-mura, Shimosanagura-mura merge by the enforcement of - municipality organization (1889) on April 1 in 1889, and Tateyamacho (the first generation) starts.
- It merges with - Toyotsu-mura (1914) on April 1 in 1914 and founds Tateyamacho (the second generation) some other time.
- It merges with - Kitajomachi (1933) on April 18 in 1933, and Kitajomachi, Tateyama starts. Same day Tateyamacho (the second generation) extinction.
