Mount Usu ropeway

Showa Shinzan and Sobetsu-cho area to look at from Mount Usu

Sobetsu-cho (so different butterfly) is located in the western part of the Hokkaido Iburi synthesis Promotion Bureau. It faces the southeastern bank of Lake Toya and is the town with the volcano called Mount Usu, Showa Shinzan. The international meeting of the snowball fight is known as a held town.

Geography

• The place name of "Sobetsu" comes from so ペッ (river of the waterfall) of the Ainu. This waterfall is cascade "Taki Sobetsu" hanging at the point where Sobetsu River begins to flow from Lake Toya.
• There is Toyako Onsen (as for most of the inn hotels in the Toyako-cho area), Sobetsuonsen in the shore of Lake Toya, and Bankei Onsen is in the Bankei district of the long Nagarekawa basin.
• It is a warm climate in winter coolly in the summer in Hokkaido.
• A mountain: Mount Usu (large Usu), Showa Shinzan, Mt. オロフレ
• A river: Long Nagarekawa, Sobetsu River
• Wetlands: Lake Toya, Lake Niiyama

History

• I set up Sobetsu village town office (1899) in August in 1899.
