Runoff

Runoff

When a runoff (けっせんとうひょう) is one vote, and there is not an end, vote for a high-ranking candidate again after having squeezed it. "The run-off primary" is the wrong character.

Summary

In many cases, I vote again when a candidate does not win a vote more than effective vote ÷ (fixed number +1) after having squeezed a high-ranking candidate among the candidates who were not produced.

When no candidate gets the majority by Prime Minister nomination election and Liberal Democratic Party presidential election in Japan, I hold a final ballot by high-ranking 2 candidate.

The candidate who achieves a runoff by the candidate high rank 2 for a vote of the majority of the vote similarly again effective in the National Assembly election if a candidate is not reaching the number of votes of the majority of the vote effective in the first vote in the presidential election of France holds a final ballot only in the candidates of vote rate more than 12.5% if not. Because election is rarely decided in one election, I am called a vote system twice.

When it did not reach minimum number of votes required by law for a person to be elected (three-eighths of the effective number of votes), I was introduced in the local chief election in Japan in 1946. 245 were applied in three, city and district heads of towns and villages election in a gubernatorial election by 242 cases, the nationwide local elections of 1952 in eight cases, city and district heads of towns and villages election in a gubernatorial election by the nationwide local elections of 1947. It became the shift from a runoff system to a re-election system with reducing minimum number of votes required by law for a person to be elected to a quarter from three-eighths of the effective number of votes in 1952.
