Methane monooxygenase (methane monooxygenase) is an oxidation-reduction enzyme catalyzing the next chemical reaction in one of the methane metabolism enzymes.

Methane + NAD(P)H + H+ + O2 Methanol + NAD(P)+ + H2O

The substrate of this enzyme is methane, NADH (NADPH), H+ and O2, and a product is methanol, NAD+ (NADP+) and H2O. I use iron as cofactor.

The organization name is methane,NAD(P)H:oxygen oxidoreductase (hydroxylating), and another name has methane hydroxylase.
