Kannichi Kanegae

Kannichi Kanegae (かねがえかんいち, January 22, 1931 -) is Mayor former Shimahara. NagasakiShimabara-shiA native place.

Brief career history

I entered old system Shimabara Junior High School (current Tateshima, Nagasaki original high school), but, in the case of educational system reform, leave school in midcourse. I was engaged in management of the inn "Kunimitsu-ya" of the business. They are used as a usual lodging of the Shimabara camping of Nishitetsu Lions, Pacific club Lions, crown writer Lions (current Saitama Seibu Lions), and there is interchange with Akira Ogi, Kazuhisa Inao until later years, and, in the Kunimitsu-ya, the friendship with the player of Lions at the time such as Yasumitsu Toyoda, Futoshi Nakanishi continues to the present.

I was elected Mayor Shimahara in 1980 and served afterward for the third 12 years until 1992. I was engaged earnestly in the petition to disaster relief activity and the country on the occasion of the outbreak of eruption, the mud flood of Unzen Mt. Fugen of 1991 by oneself and the figure was greatly taken up in the media and became famous as "the mayor of the mustache" at a bound.

I make use of an experience in case of the Mt. Fugen eruption after the mayor retirement and work on a lecture in the whole country. I am presented with 勲四等瑞宝章 in 2001 and serve the honorary director of the Unzendake disaster Memorial from 2002.
