The fish that the escolar (rose 鯥, a scientific name: Ruvettus pretiosus) belongs to escolar genus Ruvettus of the sea bass eyes mackerel suborder snoek department.

Characteristic
It is deep-sea fish inhabiting the depth measuring several hundred meters, but often hangs to a gill net or the longline because I often surface in the shoal in the night.
The features are stern, and eyes and a tooth are big like a Japanese bluefish, but are not closely related with the Japanese bluefish other than the common point called the deep-sea fish of sea bass eyes. A lot of sharp, small teeth line up in the entrance.
