叙爵 to a ranking of 従五位下

It was decided to be honor in the Imperial Court in the Middle Ages in the ancient times, and it came to call 従五位下 with a honorable title (they obtain it and are aggravating) that a person of lower than sixth place or the no rank was made 従五位下 accepted as a noble (but, in the case of skipping promotion, they may receive conferment of a rank of 従五位上以上 in 叙爵時), and 叙爵 and the honorable title came to be used as a similar meaning later.

叙爵 to a title

In coming ages, the word of the honorable title is used as an another name of in a certain honor position and title or the title having high position, and it is the trace that name what is conferred a title on 叙爵.

In the Meiji government, there was an Imperial edict to give the nobility "a honorable title" on July 7, 1884, and the list of the nobility and the vassal of merit of the revolution who got the title of a duke, a marquis, an earl, the viscount titled "appointment" newly was promulgated (a clause, the table of the title refer to "bestowal of an order on July 7, 1884".)
