A town of Higashikubiki-gun where Yasuzuka-cho (Suzu or town) was located the southwest of Niigata. The commuting rate to Joetsu-shi 13.2% (2000 national census). I was admitted into Joetsu-shi on January 1, 2005, and the town level became the local autonomous district "Yasuzuka ward".

History
There were remains of the Jomon period [9], and people lived here from this time. It functioned at the time of the survival of Kenshin Uesugi as the military important ground of three highways. [1][10]

- Yasuzuka-mura, Higashikubiki-gun, Wada-mura, Hongo-mura, Ishibashi-mura, upward village, downward village, Makino-mura, Itao-mura, Matsuzaki-mura, Sodeyama village merge with - municipality organization enforcement (1889) on April 1 in 1889, and Yasuzuka-mura (Suzu or irregularity) starts.
- - larger section of a village Wada is isolated (1901) on November 1 in 1901 and merges with Higashikubiki-gun finesse Tomura, Numagi-mura, Yukuno-mura, and it is in Oguro village. Higashikubiki-gun moonlight village, 中保倉村, Nakagawa-mura merge with remaining village area and found Yasuzuka-mura.
