Wataru Okuya

Wataru Okuya (January 9, 1975 - as Taniwa to put) is a track-and-field (long-distance running, marathon) former player and supervises SUBARU track and field club now (leader). HyogoKako-gunHarima-choA native place. 181cm tall, 61 kg in weight.

Origin

I begin to run by the advice of father from the elementary school and, in 1990, enter the Hyogo Prefectural Nishiwaki technical high school. It is won a prize for an inter-school athletic meet in 3000mSC for the Nishiwaki mechanic High School era by the eighth place. I run three wards in the national high school relay road race of the year and I outrun six people with the section second place (the first place of Japanese people) and contribute to championship of the team.

In 1993, it is entered the company by Daiei. I participate in world youth land championship carried out in Lisbon, Portugal in 1994 as a 5,000m representative from Japan, and I pass a qualifier, and it is the 14th place in the final.

1995、Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd.I pass and transfer. In 1999, I participate in Tokyo international marathon and become the fifth place (the third place of Japanese people) in spite of being the first marathon.

In 2000, I transfer to Fuji Heavy Industries (SUBARU). I participate in a world half marathon championship carried out in Portugal in 2003 as a representative from Japan and become the 40th place.

I run a marathon on a day and participate, and, in 2005, every Lake Biwa becomes the fourth place (the second place of Japanese people) and is chosen as a representative from Japan of the World Championships in Athletics championship Helsinki meeting men marathon in the same year for the first time. The result of the World Championships in Athletics public performance race remained in the 14th place, but I made a goal in the Japanese third person and contributed to championship of the group of opposition round according to the country.

In 2006, Fukuoka International Marathon participates and becomes the fourth place (the first place of Japanese people) and updates a personal best record. It becomes informal decision first of the World Championships in Athletics championship Osaka meeting men marathon of the next year. However, I removed 3 degrees open surgery, small intestinal 80% and part of the large intestine surgically for the disease (large intestine perforation-related diverticulitis) of the bowels in April, 2007. Because physical condition is not restored, I decline the representative from Japan of the World Championships in Athletics Osaka meeting (Tomoyuki Sato of the filling a vacancy brings it forward to an official representative at first). I did not play a seriously ill state as a trouble was reflected on everyday life in an official race afterwards at one time.

In June, 2009, I announce the retirement. I take office as a coach of the SUBARU track and field club.

I entered in Tokyo marathon to become the full marathon participation for the first time in approximately three years three months in February, 2010.

I reach the supervisor of the SUBARU track and field club at promotion, the present on February 1, 2011.
