Social participation in planning Buddhism

Social participation in planning Buddhism

The social participation in planning Buddhism (しゃかいさんかくぶっきょう British: Engaged Buddhism) works on the practice by the Buddhism person concerned aiming at the making of ideal society based on the Buddhism.

Etymology

Originally I say 入世仏教 or human being Buddhism (じんかんぶっきょう) and am the term which Thich nut Kahn made. Originally, at a stage to translate this into English, I joined with the thought of the Buddhist of the Westerners who were hippie and reformists gathering, and it was in "Engaged Buddhism", and I was combined with Japanese-style reception, and this was paraphrased with "society participation in planning Buddhism" or "society participation Buddhism" when it was done Japanese translation.

Criticism

In 入世仏教 of the cause cause, it is the part of the Bodhisattva line of Onori called the relief of all creatures, but there is the criticism that European and American Engaged Buddhism adds the name of the Buddhism to the innovation of this world, society political activity for the purpose of the reform as a decoration.

By the way, I list it with "left wing Buddhism" when "入世仏教" points to European and American Engaged Buddhism when I point to the Buddhism activity of Thich nut Kahn of the cause cause in Chinese.
