The Odawara ruins of a castle park (おだわらじょうしこうえん) is a city park located in Jonai, Odawara-shi, Kanagawa (multi-purpose park). I am maintained around a main enclosure of Odawara-jo Castle and the castle tower revived in (1960) in 1960. Most of ruins of a castle parks become the area of the designated historic spot of the country. I am chosen in 100 selections of Japanese cherry tree famous places.

Summary

In the park, there are tourist facilities such as Odawara-jo Castle history information building, Odawara-jo Castle ミューゼ (art museum), a zoo, an amusement park, Odawara municipal library, the Odawara-shi native district culture building. I give the service that a guide volunteer shows around Odawara-jo Castle and the neighboring famous places, historic sites free in association of NPO corporation Odawara guide (require reservation).

The corner oar bridge built over the moat of Odawara-jo Castle (I do the corner tower) was removed for the reconstruction construction of the Maidashi gate (2006) once in May in 2006.

In late years the reconstruction and preservation of the castle area may be pushed forward and are going to be closed with castle level being a historic spot [1]. As for the animals bred at a zoo, it is moved other zoos and forest Park わんぱくらんどなどに of the founded Odawara child.

Umeko of the Indian elephant which visited Japan in 1950 was kept, but died on September 17, 2009. Zoo in itself is pointed out from the Agency for Cultural Affairs if disproportionate to a historic spot, and a Japanese monkey is bred in a garden, and (I refer to the Umeko # episode) which there was in the direction abolished with death of Umeko retains the zoo now in January, 2016.
