L (unit)
L (ell) is unit of length of the yard pound method system. It was the unit that was not used and has been ever used among dressmaking, the outfitting people concerned now.
ell is a physical shaku to come from length from a shoulder to a wrist by the etymology same as elbow (elbow) formerly (including the elbow). I was connected with the cubit that was the length from an elbow to a finger-tip later. I was considered to be the twice the cubit (タブルキュビット) in the U.K., and Elle became longer afterwards than タブルキュビット. In most areas, become that Elle (unit or to be equivalent to it) became slightly longer than a cubit; now L of the cubit may be alias said. It is the same as the carpenter's square in Japanese traditional weights and measures and relations of the length by cloth measure that dimensions to be used in outfitting relations get longer.
