The Kurashiki area (くらしきちいき) is administrative area classification in Kurashiki-shi, Okayama. It is the central government office direct control area of the city city hall and is located in city North Chuubu. I assume the Kurashiki center city area with the Kurashiki aesthetic area the center and form 4 main areas of Kurashiki-shi with Mizushima area, Tamashima area, Kojima area [1].
"Kurashiki" as one area in Kurashiki-shi may point to the thing which put pointing to the former Kurashiki city limits that put here and Mizushima together other than an area explaining in our page and both areas of Chayacho district, the Shochi ward that is small here elsewhere for branch jurisdiction area together, but it is almost often found for "Kurashiki" in the city to let you do here.
In addition, in the narrow sense, you may point to the former Kurashiki-cho (Kurashiki-mura) level, and refer to Kurashiki-cho and Kurashiki for this.
In addition, I describe former Kurashiki-shi that existed from 1928 through 1967 for convenience in our page ("# former Kurashiki-shi" reference).

Summary
It is the area that I did around the very large level ground called Kurashiki plains occupying the western part of Okayama plains. The part and Tsurajima heap of mountains, western part of the Kojima heap of mountains at the north end are surrounded by the Takahashi River in Hayashima hill (帯江丘陵), the southern part in Fukuyama hill (Tsukubo hill), the eastern part in the northern part of plains. JR Sanyo Main Line runs at the center to the east and west, and there is the independent hill of Mt. Tsurugata, the Kasuyama hill in the central part, and there is Kurashiki Station to the immediate northwest, and center city area opens to the south.
Commerce was concentrated in the central city area, and the suburbs were old, and the cultivation of the rush was prosperous in raw cotton, the modern times, and I added it, and the suburbs type agriculture such as a fruit tree or vegetables was prosperous once, too. In addition, the local industry such as fiber connection to come from former cotton growing or the rush artefact was frequent. However, a large highway is maintained in the suburbs by development of the motorization after the rapid economic growth era and bristles with road side stores in the suburbs, and the suburbs make city it by the location of Mizushima industrial area and affiliates again as a bedroom town, and farmland and the local industry decrease sharply. A secondary industry worker and tertiary industry workers increased instead. With this, the central city area largely in comparison with the height of prosperity lost power, too.
Including the branch office of central government offices, I concentrate most of integrated administration of a large region functions in the city.
History
History
It was the sea area called the sea of Achi equal to the western part of the hole Sea of Kibi, but it became gradually shallow, and a tideland came to open at the time of the ebb tide by accumulating of the earth and sand formerly because it was Kawaguchi region of the Takahashi River. A reclamation of several degrees was performed with Oka of the Hideie Ukita vassal commanding it in last years of Middle Ages, and a reclamation being carried out, and the northern part of Kurashiki plains having been developed land for as a start until the Edo era, and current level ground was born. Kojima that was islands became in this way not separated by water. It is that purpose now that many irrigation canals are set up around the level ground part.
Became the sightseeing spot particularly now as Kurashiki aesthetic area, hitting it a central city area of here called the old times with 窪屋郡 (Tsukubo-gun) Kurashiki-mura and, as the river Port which used the Kurashiki River even after making it land as a port at the time when it faced Jinnyacho where a chief administrator place of the Imperial demesne was put in the Edo era and the sea, prospered very much as a distribution center of supplies. Many business magnates were born, and the cityscape of the current white wall was built [2].
It was by unification in Oda prefecture (Fukatsu prefecture) in 1871 though it was in the prefectural seat of the Kurashiki prefecture that did a rule place of the Kurashiki chief administrator place (Kurashiki jurisdiction of a local administrator) with a forerunner when it was the Meiji era, and establishment of prefectures in place of feudal domains was carried out, and the prefectural office moved from Kurashiki-mura. Furthermore, it becomes the admission to Okayama for eight years [2].
New Kurashikicho where 3 municipalities of Kurashikicho, Tsukubo-gun (the first generation), extreme longevity village, Odaka-mura were complicated with former Kurashiki-shi that became a direct forerunner of here on April 1, 1927 and were born was complicated with the neighborhood later and opened an area [2].
On April 1, 1928, new Kurashiki-cho enforces municipal organization and becomes Kurashiki-shi (the first generation). This became the second city next to Okayama-shi in Okayama. The city hall was established in former Jimmachi (the northern part of existing center 1). Admission was complicated with Kojima Fujito town each more successively in Tsurajima-cho, Asakuchi-gun and Fukudamachi, Kojima-gun (local current Mizushima together) in Tsukubo-gun Zone Emura, Nakasho-mura, Sugao village on December 1, 29 on Nishiachicho, Asakuchi-gun, June 1, 28 on Toyosu-mura, Tsukubo-gun, January 1, 28 on April 1, 27 on Tsubue-mura, Kojima-gun, March 26, 26 on September 1, 25 and enlarged city limits sequentially [2].
And I was complicated equally with Tamashima City that was adjacent on February 1, 1967, Kojima City and founded new Kurashiki-shi (current Kurashiki-shi). The city hall was established in here (former Ichibe, Kurashiki), and a branch was installed in the old government office of Tamashima, Kojima (put to current Mizushima later). In former Kurashiki-shi, the area except the district that was Tsurajima, Fukuda became the direct control of the city hall central government office and came to be called "Kurashiki" as one area in Kurashiki-shi [2].
Because culture facilities arts and sciences-related in 1930 in Ohara art museum, 1948 citizen of Kurashiki art building in 1950 art including the Kurashiki archaeology building were built after the old municipal organization enforcement in sequence by former Kurashiki-cho level to become the center, and there was always the flow of the cityscape preservation, scenery maintenance exercise by Magosaburo Ohara again, the demographic, social and economic conditions in a city that probably an element was, and were enclosed of the culture city rooted. This is succeeded to new Kurashiki-shi [2].

Industrial
An industrial area is in the Nishiachi district in spite of being small scale. In addition, it is dotted with the factories of big things and small things in an area. To a representative thing KURARAY, Chugoku Kako Co., Ltd., Marugo rubber. In addition, it is an establishment of a business place of Kurabo Industries and puts the head office in Honcho, Kurashiki-shi on the registration now.
Agriculture
The ground which was the sea is reclaimed for newly reclaiming a rice field from ancient times, and the agriculture including the rice was prosperous once, but making it it moves a city area now residential land, and the farmland largely decreases because level ground is the land which became it. However, it is dotted with the fields here and there in the city, and there are still many fields in the suburbs, and the agriculture is performed mainly on the United States, vegetables. However, the agriculture as the industry is weaker than an area and other local governments other than the city.

In 1927, 3 municipalities of Kurashikicho, Tsukubo-gun (the first generation), extreme longevity village, Odaka-mura found new Kurashiki-cho (two generations). Municipal organization secondly shifted next to Okayama-shi in Okayama in 1928, the following day and became Kurashiki-shi (the first generation). I founded it and merged with neighboring Kojima cities, Tamashima cities in 1967, and it was in new Kurashiki-shi (2s, current Kurashiki-shi), and former Kurashiki-shi became extinct.
The area that merged the current Kurashiki area and Mizushima area is within former Kurashiki-shi.
