Kokei Kobayashi residence (こばやしこけいてい) is a private house in Takada Park of Joetsu-shi, Niigata. I remove and rebuild this residence which architect 58, Yoshida designed by a request of Japanese painter Kokei Kobayashi and was restored to the original state and am the registration tangible cultural property of the country. It is next to a Joetsu City general museum, the Kokei Kobayashi memory Museum that shares facilities with a museum.

Summary

Joetsu-shi purchased the dismantling material of this residence in 1995 and I put the ateliers which were a place of the work production of the Old diameter together and was completed in Jo Takada outworks of a castle trace based on a drawing drawn a figure of at the time of the dismantling (1998) in the reconstruction, the spring of 2001 in September for 1,998 years. The facilities are constructed in these residence and atelier, garden. A work and the document of the old diameter are displayed in this residence, atelier, too. It is the building which is important on one of history of architecture in Japan as an initial building work of the sukiya style of existing a little 58, Yoshida, and the home of Kokei Kobayashi is the free-standing tea ceremony room house example which a cultured person at the time liked. In addition, it is a building conveying the high construction technology of the carpenter specializing in building shrines and temples who succeeded to the traditional skill at the time. The Kokei Kobayashi's house was recognized as a registration tangible cultural property of the countries in April, 2005.

Closed day

On Monday (the next day Monday in the case of a holiday) year-end and New Year (from December 29 to January 3), display spare period, the winter season closure (from the middle of January to the end of February)

  • Traffic regulation
