Ian Jackson
Ian Jackson (Ian Jackson) is a developer engaged in making of the free software and Debian for a long term. He is the person who made up package system of administration, dpkg of Debian (makes a rewrite in C) and is a developer of bug chase system () (debbugs, BTS) of others, SAUCE, userv and Debian. He maintained the Linux FAQ [1] before. He is the server which is famous for hosting of PuTTY and other software again, a manager of chiark.greenend.org.uk.
Jackson acquires a doctorate of the comp-sci in Cambridge University [2] and works in シトリックス systems now. He worked in Canonical and nCipher Corporation [3] in the past.
He took office as Debian project leader in January, 1998. Debian GNU/Linux 2.0 (a code name: hamm) was released among leaders him. He is a committee member of the Debian technical committee (Debian Technical Committee) now. As for him, a vice-chairperson of Software in the Public Interest got a chair later from 1998 through 1999.
In 1999, we Held Ackerman succeeded the Debian project leader. Ian delivered the maintenance of dpkg to we Held later.
