History

The station name was positioning called the stations as the starting point of a mountain climb to the Hira mountainous district as the name showed it at Hira Exit Station (ひらぐちえき), but came to have the character as the nearest station when I practiced medicine in (1926) in 1926 when Sankei valley (current Biwako Valley) opened it as a skiing area of the Hira mountain range in (1965) in 1965 along the line. A communication bus ran from our station to the foot of a mountain of the Sankei valley, and the transfer ticket with カーレーター which was 江若鉄道線 and a communication bus and the transportation facility of the Sankei valley hall was released [2].
