Andrew Melville (English :Andrew Melville, from August 1, 1545 to 1622) is a Scottish theologian, a religion reformer.
Melville learned the beginning of the Latin in Angus, Grammar School of Montrose. He read Greek text of Aristotle at a university and mastered language study so as to surprise a professor. Melville that finished the course of the university became the reputation with "the superior poet, philosopher, a Greek scholar".
In 1564, I studied in France, the Paris University at 19 years old. Three years later, I was forced to leaving France by a political dispute and went to Geneva. Therefore he was welcomed. In 1572 during his Geneva stay, a holocaust of sun Baru terme by the Roman Catholicism happened, and much Protestantism including the best-known French scholar in those days escaped in Geneva. Melville caught much learning from them.
He who went back to Scotland became the president of the Saint Andrews University in 1580. He was in charge of theology, Hebrew, Syriac, the subject of the language of the rabbi. Melville pushed forward a study of the Greek literature and told that Aristotle who was authoritative in Roman Catholicism had an error.
In 1582, I acted as the chairperson of the meeting of the Presbyterian Church church and I took the trial that was going to force a Catholicism-like supervision system on the Kirk and left and was engaged in work to establish an elder system in a church. Therefore I was charged with treason in February, 1584 and fled into England. He came back to Scotland in November, 1585, and he defended freedom of the Kirk against all interference by the government.
He called King James "a stupid servant for God", and "even J.R. said to "Scotland, even King is only the member that even a noble was alone without with a head for him in the kingdom of Christ yes" where "it is Jesus Christ who was J.R. who was a national head whom 2 King of Men and two kingdoms exist." and the head of the church.".
